Haha yea..technically it's supposed to be 'Matron' if she's married. BUT you can announce her any way you like

Re: maid vs. matron
both my sisters are married and they are both my matron of honors in programs on wedding sites i refer to them as matron of honor because it can be an insult to them to call them maid of honor they are married... kind of like miss vs mrs

Re: maid vs. matron
technically she's a matron - she's married... but if you want to call her a maid... do it... she'll probably appreciate it (deep down) and you do what you want!

Re: maid vs. matron
I am trying to think about how I would feel if someone asked me to be their matron of honor and then insisted on referring to me as the maid of honor. I think I would expect to be referred to as the matron of honor. It's like someone calling me Miss. If the bride totally insisted on calling me the maid of honor lets be honest I am not about to go and start a fight over it, or end a friendship, but I would be pretty upset.

What does your friend think about it? If she prefers being called matron of honor, I think it would be best to honor her wishes…but I know I personally would be calling her ‘maid of honor’ in my head, lol.

Re: maid vs. matron
I would call her what she is - a matron of honor. If you call her maid of honor, its like shes not married which I personally wouldn't be too keen on. but i guess this depends if she minds or not. maid of honor sounds better because we're so used to hearing it, but if you think about it 'maid' is not a great word either hehe...
