I went to weigh my invitations this morning to see if I needed 1 or 2 $.66 stamps and the PO Agent told me it would be $2.07 per invite... I almost fell to the floor. A few friends of mine and brother are getting married this year so they used 1-2 $.66 stamps. Could it be that she just didn't know what she was talking about??? How many stamps is everyone using?

Mailing Invites... IT COST HOW MUCH?????
They are pocket invites with just an RSVP, reception card the response env. and direction card from the hall. I put 4 very small sized Swarovski stones on the invitation and a 2' sq. with a monogram on the outside to seal the invite with another Swarovski stone.

So they're not like bumpy or anything. What are the measurements? I found a thing on the USPS that tells you the max size to be considered normal sized vs. odd sized. I'll find it and post.

Thank you so much for the info. the env. size is 5' by 8' the weight is not more than 2 oz. but it can't be easily bended. I looked on USPS to cal. postage and clicked on the rigid envelope and it said $.86. I guess I'll try another PO and see what they say.

They add .20 for 'bulk' even if its almost flat. That's not for any special handling either. I hate them! No offense to any Postal Workers. Its just the system has gotten ridiculous. I bet in 10 years NO ONE will send snail mail invites. It will all be evites.

$2.07 each?! It'd be cheaper to hand deliver them!

I Paid $3.26 for mine. Definitely go to another post office because at first I was quoted almost $1 higher by a nasty post man.

It's the crystals that put you over - at least in part. Same deal with my daughter's shower invitations....one crystal = an additional 22 cents per invite.

The stones are a surcharge. Although mine weighed only enough for .66 cents, they wanted to charge me the extra .20 for the crystal. Mine were misquoted (without the surcharge) so when I took them back to be hand canceled and they tried to make me do another .20 I pretty much flipped. The person was so nice and she said they just had to get through her really and since she'd overlook them they should be fine. Basically, once they have the post office's stamp they wouldn't be stopped anywhere else. All of mine were delivered.

My invite was less than 1 ounce but bc it had a bump from the ribbon slider, I got charged 66 cents. This is even though it was below the thickness requirement. I think its definitely subjective.

That's what I told FH. I told him if they are really $2.07 to mail out, let everyone that comes to our appt. take their invite with them.
