We tipped a little over 4 pp and gave 550.

The 'rule' is $2-$3 a person. We did about that.

We had approx. 205 and we tipped our Maitre'D $1,000.00

At the reception hall I used, I asked about the 18% gratuity and the suggested tip for maitre d'. I was told the 18% gratuity was given to the waitstaff, bartenders and I think valet parking for their tip. The maitre d' tip ws given to him but was also used to tip the kitchen help and porters. So maybe some other places work it that way too. Lastly the bridal attendants are a separate tip again.

Etiquette say 3-5 pp but in the grand jist of things...I would only tip what you deem necessary. To have a vendor TELL you what to tip I think is a little ridiculous.

The tip that is included goes to the service staff, etc. The maitre d is not included
