I was a complete idiot awhile back and ended up with too many points on my NY license....it got suspended/revoked and was eligible for termination at the end of July. I have to get a GA license....can I?? Do I just go through the motions like I was a 16 year old again? If so...then I have to hold a permit for a YEAR before taking a road test!!!

Re: Major Dilemma....does anyone work at DMV?
hmmm...i dont know if you can just start over. i think that in most states in order to obtain a license you must surrender your out of state license. i don't think you are allowed to be licensed in more than one state. when i moved to nj and got a new license, i had to turn in my ny license. i actually had to get a permit, but it was just a piece of paper they gave me and i went to another line and got the actual license. i'm pretty sure when you apply for a license-either to transfer from another state or to get an initial license they will ask you if you have ever been licensed before or if you were licensed in another state and also if you have ever had a license revoked/suspended. good luck!!

All I have to do is take a written and road test...and I can do it in the same day....but I'm told the road test is a parking lot obstacle course AND a 1/2 hr road test!! Holy cow!
