well not that we got locked out of the room for makeup artist. its nice to know that vendors read our responses maybe they will understand that we work hard for our money and do not like to be taken advantage of with prices. i know from calling around that $190 is alot for makeup for a wedding. thanks girls for all your help with names of people to call. i actually got a call from a really nice makeup artist named maria from a soft touch she was very understanding and accomidating. she put me at ease when she said she doesnt charge a holiday fee. its nice to know people are out there to help not just make a quick buck.

thank you for your opinion but i think that brides helping brides doesnt mean vendors reading about other vendors and commenting how do we know that vendors dont create names and try to plug there businesses or friends businesses we dont know i think there should be some level of trust between us all and some type of privacy the vendors have there own chat area. this is how i feel.

When you have been on the boards as long as some of us you pick up who is an actual new person and who is a vendor with a fake name. When we suspect that someone is posing as a bride we start bringing attention to the thread where an administrator will look at the thread and investigate or we start FMing Ron to check this person out.
If it is indeed a vendor posing as a fake bride, Ron does not stand for it and will remove that person and block them and their IP address for accessing the site.
An example is we had a vendor posing as a bride and their very first post was pushing a company and some got quiet annoyed and started posting questions like so why is your first post pushing a vendor. Then Ron steps in and he protects us.
You're still new but believe me you'll pick up on everything very quickly

Vendors or suspected vendors posing as brides has happened and it does happened. I know that it happened to me when I had a problem with my wedding dress. It was very obvious that it was fake, 1 post and the only non supportive comment on the thread! Melissa is right you usually can tell and Ron is good about investigating things.
While I agree with you 100% about venting and being BHB board, it is still the internet and a public forum, as I was reminded. Anyone can read this. It is also a business and Ron must watch for anything that is liablous (sp). Feel free to vent away and as Melissa suggested if someone wants to know who the vendor is they can FM you.

thanks for the info. its good to know. i really appreciate everyones honesty and helpfulness. i am so stresses. this wedding is costing me a fortune. my vendors combined are more than the reception hall for me. guess thats what i get for getting married on new years eve.

I have on NWR my ferret wont let me on the computer, that is a thread.
It helps girls know what the subject is about so if they want to read it they can if its something that they are not really interested in reading they dont have to open it.

Your definatly in the right spot to vent. Thats what we are all here for, to help, to listen, to give hugs, support and just be here for each other.
We all know how stressful it is planning a wedding and we turn to each other for help, suggestions and to just let out what bothers us.
We are also here to exchange ideas, arts and crafts projects, talk about favors, shoes, dresses, hair styles, and just have fun. We talk about everything from wedding planning to our pets to what we are cooking for dinner. Its a great, friendly sight and everyone on here is so wondeful and so helpful
