Hi, Do you usually pay them the rest of the balance the day of? or a month before the date?

For my wedding, I had to leave down a 50% deposit on the date of the booking. And the rest I paid the day of the wedding. To secure both end of the parties, have an official bank check or money order so you make sure you receive the service before you fork over the money and the artist gets the assurance that she will be paid and not be con with a blank check.
