I visited the MAC store in Macy's and did a trial... I loved the job she did and was planning on using her for the wedding day.
Just a few questions... is $100 per person normal for a good makeup artist? She didn't have a contract for me to sign, just her word that I was in her book.
Also, has anyone ever used 'the production complex'? Any comments?
Thanks

Re: makeup question
I am paying $135 for airbrush w/ Marie Katz and for my girls it is $75 if they want airbrush and $65 if they want regular makeup. I think that $100 is a great price espcially if you really like them--I have been quoted $220 for some artists.

Airbrush makeup is when they literally airbrush the foundation onto your face. It is really great and it is really soft and natural looking on your face. It doesn't come off. I had two airbrush trials and both of them lasted over 12 hours--I even took a nap after one of them. They only thing I had to reapply was my lipstick.

Re: makeup question
i don't think $100 is too bad for make-up. i hear some girls pay a couple hundred. wheni was in a wedding two years ago, we went to the make-up counter and got our make-up done for free, but had to purchase $40 worth of that line's make-up. not sure if MAC does this, or any other counter (the dept. store was in ohio). maybe you could inquire about doing that instead.

Thanks!
Are you offering to pay for the girls makeup? How does that work?

Re: makeup question
Very reasonable, and her word is good enough, just follow up with her once every two months or so, that way she doesn't go AWOL.

Re: makeup question
100 isnt bad at all!
I am not paying for my girls. I gave them the option of getting it done or not. The only person I am covering is my MOH (sister). She has done so much for me and its just my way of doing something in return for her.
