Does Professional makeup artists really make a difference? Most pics Ive seen look garish and not at all natural

Re: Makeup Question
I think it certainly makes a dfference. My make up trial was very natural looking (I am using Oksana) but the best part is the actual professional make up that is used..it lasts longer. Also personally I wouldn't want to be doing my own make up on my wedding day, it would be a mess!

Re: Makeup Question
I am leaning towards doing my makeup myself...I am going to go to the lady I buy my makeup from and have her do a makeover...and see if I can replicate it.

Re: Makeup Question
I can do my own makeup but I decided to have someone else for my wedding as I just didn't want the stress of having to do something else. With my luck, it won't come out the way I wanted it and won't have time to fix it!
I figured it would be a nice pampering if I didn't have to do it myself!

Re: Makeup Question
I find that when you get makeup done professionally, it definitely lasts longer...I was in a wedding and got my makeup done in the morning (around 10am) and at 8pm it was still on.

Re: Makeup Question
I think if you are really good at doing it on your own, then its fine. I went to a wedding recently and the bride did it herself and I was amazed because it looked professionally done. But for me I knew there was no way I could do what my artist did and it definitely wouldnt have lasted all day.

Re: Makeup Question
I really love makeup and I am comfortable doing it myself. I think for that day I will do it myself. My girl that does my hair also does makeup COSMETIC ARTISTRY by Mya
She is my hair dresser and I think she is great. I recommend her to anyone! I plan to do my own but I will take any suggestions from her that day.

Re: Makeup Question
I would totally do it myself if I didn't want airbrush. I can do my own makeup very well so if I wanted regular foundation I'd go it alone.

Re: Makeup Question
I am total spaz with makeup. I barely wear any. I would not trust myself. If you are good with that stuff though, I don't see why not. I also like the idea of being 'pampered' that day.

Re: Makeup Question
I stink at make-up. There is no way I would work so hard for my wedding day and spend so much money to look like a mess on that day! I won't be happy if I don't look my best. I know it's expensive but if I'm going down the hole, I might as well go all the way. If your good at applying your own make up then go ahead! Im just not fortunate in make up department.
