Thanks girls. I just emailed her and said that from what I have heard, the typical rate is about $150 ... and I asked her if she could come down at all. I'll let you know what she says. It's hard because I know her - not terribly well but she does the makeup for our commercials (i work for a prod. co.) and I have worked with her for a few years now, whenever we need a makeup girl. She's the only girl I went to for m/u and I kinda gave her the benefit of the doubt because I knew her. Now I feel like I should have asked a long time ago! It's almost too late to find anyone else at this point.
its not too late at all. Think of all the makup artists that work at MAC, Bobi Brown, and other places like that!
Yeah, I guess. Maybe I can find someone like that who is recommended by someone here. Otherwise, how do you know if they are good?

WOW! That is alllot!!! I am paying $65 for my hair and $30-$35 for makeup. So roughly about a hundred. $65 to start as long as you don't want any crazy up-dos. But I just want a basic one so I'll be fine! My girls hair starts at $55.

I just went to the site, before you even posted this, and saw you! Their prices are good but it would kill me to shell out another $50 for a trial when I paid my girl $110 for 2 trials already!!!! I am beginning to think she is just wayyyy overpriced (she mostly does commercials, not bridal, maybe that is why).

the artists at makeup counters give free trials. try going to a couple of them and if your not happy, use your gilr. And you will have lost nothing money wise!
