Makeup Trial With Jacqueline Nicole Today...UPDATE

So....Jacqueline Nicole is a big sweetheart. But, I screwed up. I don't wear makeup ever, and I should've said 'I need something natural.' Instead I found a picture of something semi-dramatic and I showed it to her. I should've known better. She did what I asked her to do, and in the light of her studio, it looked good.

Then, when I got to my car, in the natural light, I didn't like it anymore. It was way too much for me personally. In pictures I liked it even less. But, again, it's totally my fault. I'm so upset and wish I went with my gut and said to keep it natural. I just e-mailed her to ask her what to do - let my date go with her, have another trial, something? I feel even worse because I said I liked it in the studio, and I did like it. But then it just seemed 'vamp' once I was outside.

Sigh...I am depressed.

honestly i thought you would have more makeup from what you said...i think you look beautiful...and i really dont think its too much...it looks great in the pics but ultimately you have to be comfortable

I tthink u look gorgeous, I dont think it looks bad at all, maybe suggest some earthtones for ur next trial if ur unhappy, its a big change if u never wear makeup.

omg that is perfect!!i really really like it!!

the only thing that is a bit 'dramatic' are the eyelashes - but only in the first picture for some reason so maybe you can use less or just stick with some good mascara

but honestly, 100% i think everything is perfect!!

of course YOU have to be happy with it but maybe give it a few days - maybe it will grow on you!

I really don't want to post them....but I guess since you all want to see them I will post them for a few minutes, but then I am def deleting them. The first one is me, how I look every day. The 2nd is me after the full trial. The last two are me after I freaked out in my car and ripped off the fake lashes and wiped off the lipstick and put my regular gloss on.

Also, keep in mind I told her to put lipstick on me as opposed to regular stain/gloss and I told her the lashes were good. Now I don't like either. It's my fault and not hers and I want that to be clear.

Also sorry I look like a giant biotch, I was so sad.

first of all, you had me thinking you were going to look like boso the clown - SO NOT THE CASE!
Here's what I think, you don't need the fake lashes
it looked great after you took them off. the lipstick she put on you is a great color, you're just not used to it.

i think you look really beautiful. that last picture is so pretty, i would've liked to see you without the lashes with the trial lipstick. i totally think that what makes you not like the look is the lashes in the first pic. you're being way to hard on yourself you're a beautiful girl and it looks great!

The ONLY thing I might change, and, this is because you're not used to wearing a lot of makeup, is the length of the eyelashes. Otherwise, I think it looks amazing.


I agree - i think you look incredible - but the only thing I don't like are the eyelashes... I LOVE the colors & you don't look overdone at all!!

It looks great! If you are not used to wearing makeup is it possible that you feel like you are wearing more then you actually are??? I hope that makes sense....

Tilde - the reason the lashes don't look so overwhelming in the last two pics are because I had ripped them out by that point.

FH also saw me in the makeup (in the post-lashes and lipstick makeup) and he also thought it was 'too much' for me. Every day I wear foundation and lip gloss and nothing else, so this was a really jarring experience. I should've had JN go very natural and then gradually put more and more so that I could find the right balance.

I definitely can't have the lashes (they way they look really bothered me) and I also think that maybe more 'earthtones' in the blush and eyes would be a more comfortable look for me.

oh wow!! it looks great! the only thing that looks a bit much to me was the eyelashes.. you definitely don't need those.. other than that i think you look gorgeous! flawless!

honestly- you look beautiful, but I agree that the lashes are a bit too long. if she makes them a tad shorter, i think you will be a bit more comfortable. except for that, i really do think you look great.

I think you look completely gorgeous!! I too, agree with the other girls that they eyelashes are a bit extreme, but the colors look great! And I don't think it is too much at all!!!

But in the end, it is all about how you feel comfortable! But I still think it looks really beautiful!

I can totally understand why you feel the way you do.
You have to be comfortable, that's all that really matters.

however.... you do not look HOOKERISH at all.
you looked gorgeous.

yeah so i think no lashes - were they a full set? Oksana just put a few little ones in the corners and actually i was thinking of doing a little less for the wedding bc in some of the pics i kind of feel like a muppet LOL

ok but i think the makeup looks amazing besides that i DEFINITELY think you should have another trial! it sounds like you had a total freak out and if u DONT make yourself feel better with a new trial you are going to be SO stressed leading up to the wedding!

i think she did an awesome job!!!!!! you look great!! you are prob just not used to be that done up

It was not a full set - it was like 1/3 or 1/4 of a strip placed in the outside corner of my eye. That's part of the reason I was so surprised - they looked SO thick even though there were just a few lashes added! Maybe it was also the way that the mascara took to them, or the fact that I have really long natural lashes? I dunno - all I know is that next time - NO LASHES! Lol.

I also think I need another trial. I already emailed JN and told her how I felt and that this is all my fault, but that I hope we could do another trial (god, I hope not for another $55 + tip though, but I guess I have to do what I have to do).

i think you look amazing. I would lighted up the liner on the eyes etc. But other than that looks great to me and i don't wear a lot of make up sometimes nothing

JN e-mailed me back and was SO sweet. She said I will not be the first client who wants more than one trial and that she'd be glad to do it free of charge. What a relief!

Thanks to everyone who was so sweet to me tonight. Hope it's not TMI, but today is day 1 of my period and I am extra emotional, so I have been weepy all night, but you guys helped a lot. I feel bad for FH - I kept trying to get him to tell me what could make the makeup better and he kept saying 'I don't know - less? Is that possible? I know nothing!' He should've followed Christine's advice fgrom the other thread and said 'would you like more wine?'

I like it but I see what you're saying where it might be a little too much but she can definitely tone it down if you ask her. Don't be upset, she's a very talented make-up artist with a great reputation, she'll help you find a look you love. i get extra emotional on my period too. but dont worry about JN im sure she'll do exactly what you want again and you'll be happy with her work
