Do you think it is OK to make checks out to 'cash' for all the various tipping envelopes? Is this considered rude or weird? I feel like I'll be giving the best man wads of cash. what do you think?

I wouldn't because I think you usually give cash..Also, if they lose it anyone can cash it (same with cash but people are usually more cautious with cash)

Cash. Put it in envelopes so it's really not one wad of cash. You can give it to FH to give out if you feel more comfortable.
