Making Favor Tags?

Making Favor Tags?

Can anyone tell me how to set up a document in Word to make favor tags? I just want to make something kind of simple and square, then I'll just punch a hole in the top. Can I add decorations to it? Like they have on MyWeddingLabels.com?

If it matters, I'm going to either use normal-sized cardstock and cut it with a paper cutter, but if I can find perforated sheets, that would be better

Thanks!

hrm...I don't know if you can really get the look of the labels from myweddinglabels.com in word.

I made mine in Photoshop.

If I get Photoshop, is it pretty easy to make tags like yours? Those are exactly the kind that I'm trying to do! They look great!!

I made my own using Word. I printed the words in navy ink (the tag said Thank You and our date) and then cut them into the rectangles using a paper cutter. I bought a cute anchor shaped hole punch from Michaels (they have lots of shapes there) and I used a regular hole punch to thread the ribbon through. Voila!

Wow!! If I decide not to go the DIY route (quite likely at this point -- FH thinks I'm crazy for even suggesting that we try making stuff :hah), I will definitely look her up!

FYI...I have photoshop at work and it is not the most user friendly program to work with. It can be alittle confusing and not to mention what you would spend on purchasing the software, you could have the tags custom made. I saw it in Staples for around $300!! If you want to use word, which I think will work, you just need to keep your design simple. If you want to purchase software, an easier and cheaper program is MS Publisher. It's a windows program and is very user friendly. It has hundreds of templates and fonts. Also, keep in mind your printer, unless you intend to take them somewhere to be printed because the more area that colored the more ink you'll go through which can run up the cost too.

Good Luck!

If you want a simple tag, which are not like the one's from myweddinglabels.com, then you can certainly use word.

For more intricate designs, you would need a graphics program, like photoshop, or others.

easy?

I wouldn't say it's easy. I would think you'd need some knowledge of the program.

I'm a graphic artist/web designer, so I'm always using Photoshop and Illustrator, etc. I found it easy to do. For a beginner, I don't think it would be that easy, but I don't think it would be impossible. I taught myself everything relating to Photoshop, and I make a pretty good living

I actually offer my services as a graphic artist to brides, so if you're interested, feel free to FM me.
