We have pretty muched narrowed down where we'd like to honeymoon to the Maldives or Jamaica. Both have their pros and cons and I really have no idea which I'd prefer.
Maldives Pros- pretty much paradise on earth Water Bungalows Fairly secluded Completely Relaxing Cons- nothing to do but relax and enjoy the senery a bit more expensive, so we'd only do like 11 days Not as many all inclusives as Jamaica, and most of them aren't even REALLY all inclusive ebcause they don't include cocktails
Jamaica Pros- Ultra all inklusive resorts = strawerry daiquiris on the beach or by the pool lots to do (i really want to do a dolphin encounter) we would be able to do 14 days Cons- Not as much privacy as on the Maldives Nice beches, but not amazing beaches
And then there is the question of which are we least likely to do at a later time (like when we have kids)... and I'd have to say we'd be more likely to go to Jamaica later than Maldives because kids would be bored out of their minds in Maldives.
So which would you pick?

you sound like you are leaning toward the maldives. Since it is your honeymoon you might want to just go for something you wont be as likely to do later on down the road (kids , etc) so just go for it! I have been to Jamaica, and it was an awesome vacation, but it is such an easy flight that you can just go anytime you like in the future. Good luck

Yea, right now I really am leaning towards Maldives... I've looked at toooonns of pictures and it looks amazing. The thing is... we live in Germany, so the flight is pretty much the same either way we go... if we did Jamaica, we'd combine it with a trip home to NJ, whether it be for the Honeymoon or at a later time. Maybe we could do Jamaica for an anniversary one year and just leave the kids (if we have them by then) with Grandma and Grandpa in NJ

Hey im going to the maldives! Were staying at the new W hotel that just opened. I love the fact that it is COMPLETELY secluded thats what i want. We are also spending a few nights in dubai since we are having a connection there. You cant compare maldives to jamaica theyre uncomparable IMO!

I have never been to Maldives, but I have been to Jamaica and my opinion is I would never go back to Jamaica. It was just not my thing. We stayed at the Sandals Dunns River and I did not like it. The ocean was nothing special and it totally skeeved me out how drug dealers were swimming in our swimming area trying to harrass us to buy drugs. There are excursions you can go on, but I'm sure Maldives has tours you can go on as well. I would definitely go to Maldives. I think it sounds much more honeymoonish.

Maldives!! I've been to Jamaica and IMO it is dirty and not nearly as nice as other places for comparable prices (i.e. all inclusives in Mexico).. I stayed at a very nice resort, and I still felt Jamaica was disgusting

I would go with Maldives. It's a once in a lifetime trip, and it seems like you can always go to Jamaica.

my vote is for maldives! only because its your honeymoon so i vote for something exotic if u can do it and that place looks sooo unbelievable and u can do jamaica another time!
