Thanks! It was stressful while it was happening, and it's frustrating now watching the news tout the response by the St. John's administration. Maybe the undergrads are sastisfied with the response, but I know me and many other law students are TOTALLY dissatisfied. We were barely told anything and were petrified and locked in a building. Also, that txt messaging system they have sent out a FALSE 'all clear' message 15 minutes into the whole thing, followed by a message saying 'DON'T LEAVE.' In the end, they said they'd evacuate the law school and then they TOTALLY forgot us. Meanwhile, it's not like the law school is remote - it's right next to where this kid was apprehended.

I am so glad you made it home ok!!!!

this guy sounds like a paranoid schizophrenic...scary people when they are not on meds.

Glad that you are ok- and I think that SJU did an amazing job because everyone got home safe that night. In a situation like that- there are always things that could be worked on- but the most important things did work.

With all due respect, things are depicted differently in the media than the way they actually happened. It is a blessing that no one was hurt, but that is largerly because of the particular kind of threat. The way the situation was handled AT THE LAW SCHOOL (which is the only place I was during the entire thing) was not right, and it's somethign that most students plan to take up with the administration.

Im glad everyone was ok too. It seems he wasn't even aware of what he was doing. He had only one bullet in the rifle and had no aggression toward the student whom apprehended him.

he is a schizophrenic whom had just come out of spinal surgery and was in terrible pain. It seems his parents immediately notices he was missing and reported he might be dangerous since he is a mentally ill person whom is in terrible pain. I was listening to his family speak and it truly is heart breaking. I really think he just needed more supervision.
