We've got engaged begining of this year and we immediately began seeking ceremony and reception sites. We booked the site for November next year but today I calculated dates in part around my period. I found out my wedding date is the DAY BEFORE MY PERIOD (I'm on the pill, so I can predict). If I move my wedding date and going later will put us into cold weather which I do not want..... . I do not want to get married feeling fat & bloated, cranky, with pimples. And I do not want to spend my honeymoon on my period. I'm thinking of going to my doctor and saying, 'Mess with my hormones, please...' I'm considering getting off the pill for a few months to try to rearrange all of this. Has anyone you know done this? Are you considering it? Am I nuts?

Re: Managing my period
I'm due to get my period the day after my wedding. I'm not on the pill so there is nothing is can do. I am so regular ... 28 days to the minute.

Re: Managing my period
i tried the whole keep-taking-the-pill-to-skip-your-period thing in the past for the sake of sparing an expensive vacation from my female annoyance--it wasn't very effective. what i ended up with was a long, drawn-out, half-a$$ period that prevented me from fooling around for longer.

Re: Managing my period
only my opinion...but yes, i think your nuts your able to take the pill straight through so you can skip your period...i think thats better. but thats only if you want too or if you want to move back your wedding date. speak to your doctor, but my doctor gave me the ok to do this once in a while...not all the time.

Re: Managing my period
I have been thinking about this, too! My friend told me to skip the last week of pills like everyone else is suggesting. I guess when the time comes, I will go with that and hope for the best.

Re: Managing my period
I'm actually thinking about going on the pill just so I can mess with it! Haha
My entire life, every time I go anywhere on vacation 90% of the time I've gotten my period. I REFUSE to let that happen on my wedding day/honeymoon!

Re: Managing my period
I am in the same situation!! i calculated it and I am getting my period on my wedding day!!! SO I have less than a yr and half to mess around with it and change the date until 'aunt flow' arrives. (i am on the pill too)....and I def. dont want it for my honeymoon either.

Re: Managing my period
I had to change my period for both a vacation and my wedding, which my doc and I already planned out. Speak to your doc first, but you can take the active pills, then skip the period pills and go right onto your new pack. My doc said I can do this up to three times this year without even needing to see him again for a checkup.

I had the same thing happen too!

Re: Managing my period
I would manipulate your pills so that you won't get your period that week. If you don't want to skip your period for the first time at the wedding, then do it anytime before the wedding (within the next YEAR) and you will change your week permanently or unless you change it again.
It's okay to skip a period if you dont do it often.
Just FYI - b.c I have done this . . . When you do get your period the next month b.c you will have a bigger drop in hormones, when you go on the placebo sometimes headaches and other PMS symptoms can get worse! Thats why I would suggest doing this way before your wedding.

YUP! I have done this on occasion and it works. It totally tricks your body into not having a period! I highly recommend it. You may still be slightly bloated but the mood swings and pimples go away as soon as you take the next active pill. I highly recommend this. Not all the time of course, but every once in a while doesn't hurt!

Re: Managing my period
You take a second pack right after you run out with no blank pills in between it makes you skip your period and it is healthy. That pill that makes you not have your period is just taking 3 packs back to back.

Re: Managing my period
What if you just went on seasonal next year? Calculate when you would get your period because on that pill it is every 3 months and I would start it early in the year because with the first 2 packs there is some minor breakthrough bleeding.

Re: Managing my period
I totally agree. I got my period today (which is the 23rd) and i am getting married next year on the 24th. At this point i am not considering messing with it because it will be over three days into my honeymood. I hate it, i am already thinking of what crazy things will come out of my mood that day.
