fh and i had the worst time today trying to get a marriage license!!!!!
first off trying to find parking anywhere near quuens blvd is a nightmare because anything within a one mile radius because they r all reserved for court officals
second..after a 20 min walk we ask 3 people which way to go,none of them know..finally one guy says to make a left..we go see a cop and a long line..we ask the cop she says and i quote'do i look like i know where to get a marriage license'..i walk in the doors to have a hand thrown i my face as this woman cop finishes her convo with her friends..when she is finally done she tells me to go on the line
ok so we ait on the line..after 45 minutes in the hot sun..she comes out and says the line inside is too long and u will not be seen today..now its only 320 and they r suposed to close at 4..im so pissed so we just leave
sorry for the ramble but here r my 2 questions
1.anyone know other place to go other than 120-55 queens blvd
2.i will be in deer park long island on wed..anyone know one around there
please just tell me where u went..at this point i will go anywhere but back there

Gina I went to Massapequa Town hall sounth today with FH. We were in and out in 15 minutes. The people were soooo nice and accomadating no line! It's 977 Hicksville Road which is north of sunrise highway. It will be on the left hand side right before jerusalem ave. Seriously the best experience ever!

OMG, they are a nightmare!!!!!
FH and I went last wednesday, we got there @ 340 and there wasnt a line. BUT Im must have looked at the requirements wrong b/c I only had cash and my checkbook. They wouldnt even let me in the door! She then tells us to they close in 10 mintues? We both look at our watches and said no 20 minutes. Anyway, we run across Queens blvd dodging traffic to find somewhere to get a money order. FH waits for the money order while I run back over there. It was like night and day! They were so nice and sweet when I went back, getting me the paperwork to fill out ( I had did it online already) before he came back. When FH came in with the money order, he asked arent those the same girls

Gina - I'm terribly sorry!!! I won't be going on Queens Boulevard either!! That's no good!! I stay away from QB at all costs!!! Good Luck!!!

I went to the one in Massapequa on Hicksville Road. I was in and out in 10 minutes and paid in cash.
But I agree with the others that if you are going to be in Deer Park your best bet is to go to the Babylon Town Hall. It is on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst. If you are on Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park then get to Sunrise Hwy from Deer Park Ave and go West on Sunrise. Once you are in Lindenhurst the Town Hall will be on your right. Its very easy to get to.

I second this! When we asked the ladies behind the front desk where to get the marriage license, they started cheering for us lol. They were soooooo nice there and we were seriously in and out in 10 min . I'm sooo sorry that you had such a terrible experience! My blood would have been boiling!!!! I hate when people make you feel guilty about making them do THEIR job!!!

yup, money order or credit card. I left my wallet home, I only had cash and my checkbook on me.
