can you girls tell me how does it work in the NY city? U come in ...fill out the paperwork...and pay... How many IDs do you need to have?
and..how long after do we go and sign things...?

A passport is all you need. I brought my SS card and birth certificate because I wasn't sure. It is $35 and you don't have to go back to sign anything. You must get married within 60 days of obtaining it. Good luck!

you get there wait in line then when its your turn you sit down and they will ask you all these questions. We didnt fill out papers they took our all info and she put it into a form on the computer then we had to check the info. We only had to show 1 piece of id and we used drivers license, but in LI i hear alot of ppl say you'll also need birth certicate. You get the license same day. We didnt have to sign until our RD

like the above poster said, DONT get it now i just realized youre getting married in 09...After 60 days the license is not valid anymore so you can only get it 60 days or less before your wedding, just has to be 24 hours before though
