Ok this is kind of random and I don't know the answer!
We have been Domestic Partners for a few years in DC. I have the license, etc
Do we need to do anything about that in order to get a NY marriage license?

maybe you should call 311 for info or call the NY state licensing department. I am sure they will have information.

Ok I'll look into it...in Dc they say getting married just cancels out the Domestic Partnership

Yup once you get married it does cancel the DP. Just go down and apply for the license. It actually doesn't even show up (at least I think) they never mentioned mine
