You need to go to your town clerk. You should call or look up online what docs you need. Usually just liscense and birth cert. They are only valid for 60 days and there is a waiting period of 24 hours so dont wait until the day before

You do NOT need to do a blood test - many years ago that was a requirement, but not any longer.
Basically, if you go in the city (one of the 5 boroughs) ALL you need is a $35 money order (must be a money order, no cash, no checks) and picture ID (like a driver's license, passport, non-driver's ID, etc). That's it. Super easy peasy.
If you go outside of Manhattan, I believe most places charge $40 and you need picture ID AND your original birth certificate (or a certified, with raised seal, copy of your birth certificate).
Like mentioned above, it's only valid for 60 days (you are under 60 days to your wedding date now, so you can basically go whenever), but don't wait til the day before because you have to wait exactly 24 hours from the time they issue the marriage license for it to be valid.

It's actually $40 now. The change came in effect 8/1/07. You can also pay in cash.
We went to the one in Manhasset on Plandome Rd. c

Right, it's $40 outside of NYC (the 5 boroughs). In NYC, it's still $35, payable only in money order. NYC Marriage Bureau
