Married Ladies - What went wrong on your day ? long

I was just thinking about the little things that went wrong on our wedding day and was curious about everyone else ?? I always thought I'd freak out if something went wrong on our wedding day but I was so happy that I seriously didn't care.

Here are mine (most are so unimportant that only I noticed) :

1- I made my hair appointment for 9:30 & when I showed up at the salon they had it down as 10am (not a big deal because I factored in extra time) so I wound up starting around 9:45 instead

2- they gave me the wrong flowers and on my way to meet DH for before pictures the woman comes running down the stairs with the right ones lol

3- my mom was 30 minutes late for pictures and we had a very tight schedule (less than an hour for all family shots)

4- DH's father never wore his boutonniere we got him

5- the rose petals were thrown almost in a pile instead of on the sides of the aisle like I asked for

6- no one threw the rice (eco-fetti) that was passed out. I wanted a cool shot of it flying too.

7- the band didn't play our whole 'play list'

8- the ties on my bustle kept breaking

9- the cake had little sea shells on it when I specifically said 'no shells'

10- The hall didn't serve the chocolate covered strawberries I thought we were getting (I had them on the menu so people actually noticed this ooops)

A few things went wrong but none of them even kinda matter to me that day! I was practically floating I was so happy!!

1) My hair and makeup lady was about 45 min late (traffic and totally not her fault!) but it didnt matter because I had made sure to schedule lots of wiggle room.

3) My mother had lost a lot of weight basically over night (she went on new thyroid meds) and her dress was HUGE! She was held together with pins!

2) My dads boutinerre broke about 5 min after he put it on

4) My bustle broke halfway through the reception but in the end it worked out because I got terrific shots like this:

5) The cake was the wrong flavor! No big deal and people seemed to like it anyway

a)Florist dropped off the flowers, w/o chking with us that everyting was okay. Turns out they made a mistake with the mom's corsages (but it turned out better than we originally planned)

b)not sure if the RH or the florist did it wrong, but rose petals were supposed to INSIDE the hurricane lamps as well as on the tables--yeah none were inside

c)FG nearly made it to ceremony, cause my bro was late in getting her there

d)one of the hurricane lamps for the CP's wasn't a hurricane lamp at all--it was a giant margarita glass! (my bad)

e)my bustle broke--was pinned up for most of the night--then broke again.

f)my brothers slutrag GF was wearing a dress that was like 3 sizes too small and SHIIT FACED as hell and totally embarassing

So funny !

My brother showed up to my ceremony drunk (and yelled at my photographer when he asked him to look at the camera). Then he didn't want to sit at his table with my aunts at the reception so he left....came back with a half an hour left and with some girl he met. She was wearing a sweatsuit so the Maitre'D knew she didn't belong there. He comes up to me and I said please let her stay....it makes him happy and it keeps him away from me lol My brother said he had the night of his life though.....so wherever he was all night it must've been a good time lol

1) We ran late and had like no time for family pics and pics of just the 2 of us

2) the flowers were wrong when they delivered them. it turned out okay because they fixed them all.

3) DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song

4) Because of the rain we didnt get to have the indoor/outdoor CH or yacht entrance

5) DJ messed up my parents' anniversary dance

6) Nobody announced the cordials in the back of the room so half my guests never even knew they were there

honestly, nothing went wrong that mattered. the limo made a mistake at the end of the night, but honestly who cares?! it was the end of the night, everything was over.

i guess i was really lucky!

1. The tux place gave my brother the wrong pants! (the others GMs and DH had pin stripe gray pants, they gave my bro black...ugh!)

2. The florist forgot to bring the petals for the cake, but she came back to the house with them when we called. Also, a few flowers were falling out of the BM boquets (they were in a holder). she came to fix them

3. photographer didn't get shots of all of the tables or the musicians (who were my friends) at the Mass

4. I forgot to bring the memorial candle from the church to the hall (I had wanted it at the place card table)

and i think that's it.... everything went so well... these things were just minor little things.

Lets see-where to start

-Got my friend the morning of the wedding

-I went to leave for my hair appt. at 900...got out to the parking lot and noticed my car was gone I thought my friggin car was stolen the night before my wedding-nope DH took it and didnt tell me!

-Limo arrived on time-but the wrong limo

-Flowers came with one BM bok missing

-We didnt get the areas we picked out for pics at OWG-but it didnt matter too much

-DHs family never showed for family pics prior to CH-the showed up 15 minutes after CH started so we got few family pics and missed CH (this bothered both of us a lil)

-My FIL toasted us and then announced that SIL was preggo!!

-Bridal Attendants bustled my dress wrong-by the time I noticed I didnt care

I think thats it-but really nothing bothered me-I thought I was going to be crazy if anything went wrong and really I just went with it all

Oh wait....the only thing...my MOH held a butter knife to my throat-yea um I guess she thought it was funny

1- My dress was too big... I called the bridal salon screaming and using words i didn't think were possible to come out of my mouth. I think i scared my photographer to death.

2 - My DJ did not play any of the greek music i gave him to play because he 'didn't realize it was that important to play since my husband is Italian'. Um NO my dh is Greek.

3 - The videograher did not get any footage of my dh or our parents walking down the aisle.

4 - Although in the program it clearly stated 'Please throw rose petals as bride & groom make their way down the aisle as husband and wife', the guests didn't know what they were for, so no picture of what i wanted.

5 - Fondant ribbon on cake was the wrong color so i wasted an extra $650 for the stupid cake.

6 - it started to rain so i didn't get half of the pictures that i wanted to take at the Old Westbury Gardens and they had to put up a tent during my ceremony.

I'm sure there were others but i really can't think of them right now.

Re: Married Ladies - What went wrong on your day ? long

I waited to long for my hair and makeup I keeped letting everyone else go when I should have gone. I was then rushed and started taking pictures with out my veil then I had one of my bm's put my veil in and she put it in the wrong way so when we went to put my catherdral length on as I was about to walk down the aisle it would not go on. So i could not where it.
My bustle broke geting into the limo to head over to the church but my wonderful ba at fox hollow fixed it.
1/2 my tables never got votive candles. I did not even realize this till we got home the day after the wedding. I realized I had so many candles left. I went and looked at pictures and realized only 1/2 the room had candles.
But in the end nothing bothered me on my wedding day. Everything went on beautiful!! It was the best day of my life!!

Re: Married Ladies - What went wrong on your day ? long

Funny how that day it totally didn't matter but...

1. We blew a fuse in the suite where we (me and my 7 girls and mom) were getting ready for the wedding and had to wait almost an hr for electricity

2. As a result of the fuse debacle, we ran really late starting pictures before so DH and I missed msot of the cocktail hr

3. My dad stepped on my veil and got the veil combs and the hairpiece comb stuck together so taking off the veil was fun

4. probably the most interesting... My now MIL (who I actually get along great with) passed out during the ceremony

5. the caterer set up one too few tables at the reception and when people went to find their table, there wasn't one.. but they fixed it quickly

6. My cake didnt look how I envisioned it, but it was still awesome and made from rainbow cookie.

Really, it sounds pretty awful now that I am writing it down, but everyone looked great, had a great time, and the wedding was fantastic, well once my MIL woke up

1- my hook/eye on the top part of zipper broke... Christine and hollie had to keep fixing it...
(made for some fun times )

2-my sister dropped my camera broke it..
(i ended up buying a new one next day for honeymoon.. with more megapixels haha)

3-best man fainted a bit but he was good to go in a minute
(silly us.. we were all up drinking till late night before)

i really think thats it but nothing mattered it was an awsome party

Re: Married Ladies - What went wrong on your day ? long

i totally forgot to add that during my dad's welcome speech, he made sure to announe to the entire room that he is a recovering alcoholic. (which i'm proud he's sober--but seriously did you HAVE to announce it when welcoming everybody)

and then said '...and there is a table of of recovering alcoholics here...i'm not gonna say which one...but they are here and they have helped me thru the years.' (yeah its the table where no one is DRINKING, der!)

[there was a table there cause my dad insisted i invite members of his AA group]

i was just mortified and a little perturbed cause my dad is the type where everything HAS to be about him...and he had the mic in his hand and he just couldn't help himself and bring it back to HIM.

(btw--he managed to say it in both english and spanish cause he translated)

Oh, where do I start?

The Cake:

It was the worst looking cake ever! It looked like a 5 year old made it.........The DOC never put the monogram or flowers on top of it........

The place card table:

My DOC did our place cards for our place card table and I am regretting that to this day! Again, looked like a 5 year old did them.........

Our signing mat:

Well, they never put our picture in it and they never covered the stand before putting it on it.........

Videographer:

Didn't tape half of our ceremony becuase the battery died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the ULTIMATE!!!!

I had to get duct taped into my gown.....LITERALLY! My dress was altered too small so I couldn't wear a bra and it barely did up, BUT it was loose around my rib cage, so on with the tape! I was FUMING! ....... but all I could do that morning was shrug it off.......

Oh and the Best Man got the same tux as my husband.....same colors, same everything........UGH!

BUT, no matter what happened, I married the man of my dreams!!!!

KRISTY!!!
You're a champ girl! Can't get over the duct tape!
All that matters is that you are married to your best friend!!
