Marrying Croatian?

Found out that there is a few of us out there so i thought id start a thread for us

There definetly is a need to impress attitude amongst their culture which drives me nuts because my wallet is not big enough.

I went through a whole issue with MIL and my bridal shower, she wanted a fancy place, my mom didnt nor could she afford it but I told my mom it is her thing and forget about what they say.

I am having a croatian band in addition to my Dj which is fine, I actually really like the music, it is happy and fun to dance to.

I love my FIls despite the fact that they are pushy and hard headed they want the best for us which isnt a bad thing just as a bride-to-be makes things a little more difficult. i learn not to bring it up lol

So instead I can talk about it here

My FI is half-Croatian but my ex was 100% and I actually learned to speak it a little.
That is awesome that you are having a Croatian band. The music is great to dance

Where are your FH's family from! His is from KRK! How funny! I never heard of Croatia until I met him, now they are all over the place! LOL - anyone else feel like that!

yes I know. I never knew anything about the culture. ThenI started dating him.
Once I moved to Astoria, forget about it!!

His grandfather has a vineyard in Croatia. I know that his family was from Split.

Haha they are all from astoria too, that is where FH lived before moving to new hyde park and he is also 100%.

His family is from Istria but my mom also grew up with someone croatian and she is from kirk.

They are everywhere!! lol

LOL!!! Tall men NO kidding!!! John's 6'5', his brother is even taller! His family is in the Istria Club!!! How funny if we end up at each other's weddings!!! LOL! OR atleast the parents!

One of my friends is Croatian (so is her husband) Go figure she also lived in Astoria!!! She had a Croatian band at her wedding & I can tell you they were awesome!! The music was great!!

i absolutely love the music...(my FH enjoys the music also...and he is irish!!)
he also has learned how to speak the language...and he loves Croatia...we went over the summer for 2 weeks & he wants to go back next year...

i just love that he has an interest in my culture and wants to learn the language...it makes me so happy!!

I am using Kristali (I think, that's what they're called) The lead singer is Eleanora! She's great! I can't wait!!!

I am using Leanora too how funny is that, they really are good, I have seen them perform at alot of weddings, i just hope it works out ok I am also having a DJ and I have alond list of stuff I want to hear

my cousin had Freedom at her wedding this past summer....they were very good...
i don't think i have heard sunce play at any weddings, but i have heard of them...

kristali is also very good...eleonora has a very nice voice....

my brother is having 'More' play at his wedding next year...

FH's bro used Mario and Joe for his wedding (I don't think they have a name for their band) and they were really good!!! Just an idea for ya Adrianna!

we are using mario & joe as well....and we are also having a 6 piece american band..

Freedom played at my FBIL and FSIL wedding and everyone loved them

We are having both too, Leap! Croatian and American music! Yay!
