Marrying Croatian?

Original post by tarakinspa

Found out that there is a few of us out there so i thought id start a thread for us

There definetly is a need to impress attitude amongst their culture which drives me nuts because my wallet is not big enough.

I went through a whole issue with MIL and my bridal shower, she wanted a fancy place, my mom didnt nor could she afford it but I told my mom it is her thing and forget about what they say.

I am having a croatian band in addition to my Dj which is fine, I actually really like the music, it is happy and fun to dance to.

I love my FIls despite the fact that they are pushy and hard headed they want the best for us which isnt a bad thing just as a bride-to-be makes things a little more difficult. i learn not to bring it up lol

So instead I can talk about it here

Re: Marrying Croatian?

Pre-war the language was called serbo-croatian. Serbian and Croatian are pretty much the same. Its more of a different dialect, although they are separate countries now. Each has its own way of saying certain things and the pronunciations are different for the same words. But the language in Croatia is called Croatian.

Its awesome there. People think its cold because its near Russia, but fail to realize that's its not near Russia, its near Italy on the Mediterranean. I have gone there every summer my entire life.

April tends to a little chilly. It gets warm from May/June SOMETIMES through to November . It ***** when you call family there in November and they tell you they just got home from the beach, DROOL DROOL!
