Maui hotels?

We are planning our Honeymoon to Hawaii. Where should we stay on Maui?

Thanks!

Re: Maui hotels?

We are staying at the Sheraton.
I have heard great things about the Sheraton and the marriott.
I've heard the Hyatt is also very nice, but a friend of mine wasn't too impressed.
One of the guys from work stayed at the Four Seasons and said that it was 'too stuffy' for him....

We are staying at the Hyatt throughout the entire trip. Maui Kauai and Honolulu I heard that they were one of the best its rated 4 stars. My friend said it was the best hotel he has ever stayed in. I guess everyones view is different.

Any other votes?

Also, what is the difference between Wailea and Kaanapali?

We are staying at the Kanappali beach hotel. They have great rates and are supposed to be the 'most hawaiian' hotel in Maui. They have great luaus everynight, cliff divers, and you can renew your vows at sunset on the beach. I am so excited. This is definately not a high rise hotel though like a Sheraton or a Marriot if that is what you are looking for. Also if you book your honeymoon at Liberty Travel tell them that you want to register there. They give you registry cards for your shower invites and people can help pay for your honeymoon or specific excursions you can take while you are there.

The Fairmount! It is on the pricey side, but it looks sooooo nice.

I stayed at the Grand Wailea. The Four Seasons next door to it looked beautiful and the Fairmont Kea Lani too!

We stayed at the Hyatt in Kaanapalli. It was very very nice but the Hyatt in Kauai was the NICEST Hyatt and probably one of the nicest hotels I've seen. But the one is Maui is still nice. Kaanapalli is an area that has alot of hotels, little shopping villages and is close to Front Street which is where most of the shopping in Maui is as well as the Old Lahaina Luau which was great - go see it!

Wailea was nice too but I think quieter and that has the Grand Wailea hotel which I hear is amazing and a few other hotels.

We stayed at the Four Seasons on Maui and it was heaven. it was pricey but well worth it.
we stayed at the Hyatt on Kuaui and that was awesome. The room was beautiful, we had gardenview to save some $ b/c I was set on the Four Seasons for Maui. The layout of the place was great.

But back to Four Seasons - gorgeous!!!!!!!
and the staff is awesome.

We are staying athe Fairmount Kea Lani- ours friends stayed their recently and said it was amazing, also friends of ours just got back and stayed at the 4 Seasons and it was great (although the one on the big island is much better - we are staying there too)

Hope this helps!
