in Oahu, you should definately check out Dukes Canoe Club. It in on Waikiki beach Located oceanfront at the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel, the restaurant and Barefoot Bar are amazing.(thats where i had dinner before getting engaged...lol) best food!!!

also, the Mai Tai bar for lunch, which is outside of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel is fantastic too, good food and drinks.
Also, the luau at the Royal Hawaiian pink palace is one the of the best.... had such a great time there, and don't forget to climb Diamond Head while you are there in Oahu...its a high climb, but the views at the top are soo worth it

In Maui-I ate at the floating restaurant at the Grand Wailea twice (can't remember the name-it is a long fish name), it was great. You can eat there even if you don't stay at the resort.
Of course you have to do a luau, we went to the Old Lahaina luau and then one at the Four Seasons (I think).
If you like sushi, there are also a lot of great sushi places we ate at.

Le Mer or La Mer???? In Oahu - I think it is in the Halekulani.. It is supposed to be the only 5 star restaurant in Oahu.

Best seafood restaurant in Maui is called Mama's Fish House. It's expensive but worth it. If you can, try to request a table by the window that looks out on the beach.

Sooo good

In Maui we ate at
Ferraros at Four Seasons (great food, ambience and service)
Pacific Grill at Four Seasons
Spago at Four Seasons
Nick's fish Market at Fairmont (Service was not the best but the food was good)
Lahaina Luau (food was not good and drinks were watered down)
Kimos in Lahaina-(we had burgers for lunch but they seemed very crowded in the eveing)
Mamma's Fish House

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a-thats the restaurant at the grand wailea...quite a mouthful to say, lol. Its supposed to be excellent but we didn't eat there.

In Maui DEFINITELY eat at Roy's ..amazing ribs and the choc. souffle is great as well..best part of dinner actually :)

We also ate at Nicks Fishmarket..i agree about the service...for us it was slllooow but the surroundings are beautiful and food is great.

For a good burger and beer for not too much $$, go to cheeseburger rock and roll in wailea..we had fun here and a great meal.

We loved Mama's Fish House. It was excellent. We also really liked Roy's. The chocolate souffle was sooooo yummy.

ETA: Tommy Bahama's (located in the Shops at Wailea) was great for lunch.

We loved Roy's in Oahu. It's a little bit out of the way from Waikiki, but the food is amazing, the service is great, and if you take a cab from the hotel, they give you $10 off your bill.

We stayed at the Fairmont and ate a lot of meals there (at the different restaurants). I loved it.

We didn't have problems with Nick's service but I think we only ate there once.

Maui faves: Ferraro's at the Four Seasons (at sunset--gorgeous!), Spago, and Mama's Fish House. It was also great when the Four Seasons packed us a casual dinner picnic basket with a bottle of wine...we sat on the beach for the sunset with our feet in the sand....ahhhhhhhh
