Maximus Salon in Merrick

Hi! I just booked my hair and make-up at Maximus....has anyone ever used them for anything? I have heard wonderful things about them and I go for my trial this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!

I go to Danielle at Maximus every so often as i am from Bellmore and my normal salon is in franklin sqaure (sometime i just dont feel like making the trip) but she is GREAt.. i havent had a problem there ever with my cut, except for the front desk women and the prices..The girls at the front are pretty rude, one time i stood there waiting to pay for my cut for about 20 minutes while she did 100 other things including drink coffee talk on the phone and help out some other woman who worked there..The prices range.. if you get a trainee its 40... and it goes up from there depending on how experienced your person is.. well when i went first she was 40.. well she seemed to have gained her exp. in like 2 months cause the price constantly changed...But i paid cause she is VERY good and i loved my cut and blowout everytime.. my girlfriend had an updo once for a wedding there and i loved it..

I agree with pretty much everything Bride02 said. I got my haircut there once. I absolutley loved the cut but it was VERY expensive and what she said about the girls at the desk is right on the money.

LOVE Maximus!!! It is the greatest. Got the 1 hour aromatherapy massage and the water journey. It was the BEST thing I have ever done!!! You have got to try the water journey. I have not done makeup or hair there but my friend did and she looked georgous. I can't wait to go back again.

melissa 27 - did you register at fortunoff's? If you did, they give you a coupon for a free trial there (not positive if it's for both Maximus or only the one at the source mall) - I may do a trial there too. Good luck!

I'm getting my hair & makeup done there too -- for my 9/21 wedding. I just signed the contract this weekend (it's so stupid - you have to sign a contract & leave a deposit if you want them to do your wedding party).

I heard William is awesome for updos --> he'll even add extensions to your hair if you want something really dramatic. I agre though that the people there are snobs --> at least on the haircutting side. On the spa side, the people there are awesome -- totally down to earth & sweet. I get my nails & waxing done there and I rave about them.

i go to maximus and use tara for my cuts. she is really nice and does a great job. my mom goes to renee and loves her cuts too. i am using william for my friends wedding in august. he is very good for up dos. prices are high but worth it. also i use irma in the spa. she does my eyebrows and they are perfect.

Re: Maximus Salon in Merrick

Thank you all!! I am so glad to hear so many nice comments! I'm sure you're right about the receptionists...but that's Merrick for ya. Hee hee. Anyway, I think I am using either Elena or Kara for my hair....they both came highly recommended. Have you ever heard of them?

When I first called there, I figured it would be soo expensive, but it's actually the least expensive place I've found! They are charging $70 for make-up and $75 for hair! Not too bad, huh. My sis (MOH) is getting charged $105 for both.

Oh, and I DID register at Fortunoff's but I lost that free trial thingy!! I have a feeling that it is only good at the Source anyway. But thanks for reminding me.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!
melissa :)
