One of my friends is getting married the month after I am planning to get married. She told me that she is a bit over budget because her reception hall is coming in over $300/pp!!! Another friend is getting married next month and she is telling me that she is soo happy that her total cost are so low. How low you ask? Well her whole affair will be a shade under $75,000.
My hair is still standing on end.
I am doing everything in my power to slide in under $15,000.
Now I am thinking maybe I am crazy? Argghh!
Please tell me it is possible to get things done nicely for less than $15,000!

15 might be a difficult task, but if you are flexible with days and times, it could happen

We did it for about 20K for 137 guests....you're not being unrealistic at all.

You have the power to make it come in at whatever number you want it to come in at. I think, in moving forward with your planning, that you shouldn't 'compare' your wedding to others (in reference to cost). It's all relative. Enjoy planning YOUR wedding on YOUR budget!!!!

We're having 150 minimum, we're trying to keep it around 45k... The reception site alone is costing around 30k after taxes!!! And bands, florists, photographers, etc.. are all asking around 5K give or take...

You can do it depending on where, # of guests, and all the extras ... find an inexpensive photgrapher, do your own centerpieces, do your own bouquets.
It's possible, but you have to be willing to put a lot of work in.

It's definitely doable.
Try reading some wedding chat boards that cover the whole country, not just the NY area... many people in other areas would never even DREAM of spending as much as people do here.
No, you can't have a really fancy gourmet crazy wedding for 15k... but you can definitely have a beautiful, classy affair for that. It just takes a little more searching to find it on LI than it does in other areas.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!! And it can turn out to the elegant affiar you never imagined. My budget is the same as yours and I have expensive taste. You just need to do a lot of legwork, a lot of research, and have some patience.

i have no idea what mine is costing...im paying about 100 per head and ive invited 312 but plan on about 250 ecause a lot of out of towners....try an allinc;usive place
