Im Lindsay and I have been dating my BF for just over 2 years. It was long distance for the first 1.5 years while I was living in Florida going to grad school. We talk about getting and being married all the time. My BF brings up possible grooms men at least once a week. But he just started a new job and claims that things are too crazy right now. And that he doesnt have the money... even though we are using a diamond that my father gave my mother!
I am wedding obsessed and have been lurking for a while, but on the '08 board. Now I realize it probably wont happen by '08 (I know the wedding is going to be BIG and take a long time to plan).
Anyway, Im glad Im out in the open...

I'm Paula and have been dating my bf for 3 1/2 years. We've been talking about getting engaged for a few months now, but we agreed to wait until I finished grad school and got offered a full time position. Well I graduated in May and got a job offer a month later so I've been pretty antsy ever since. We went looking at rings in July and I showed him what I like. I can't wait to get it and to start planning. I've been reading the boards for a few months now, but I told myself I wouldn't actually join until we were engaged. Obviously that plan didn't work out b/c here I am.

Awww welcome...u do not have to be officially engaged (having a ring) in order to plan. I'm not! We decided that we wanted to get married and be smart so we decided to plan before a big engagement (which will still surprise me) and that will cut out alot of drama. So plan away it makes it easier and cheaper

Congrats girlsand welcome to the 09 boards!!! Glad to see you decided to stop lurking and introduce yourselves You'll get your rings soon!!! Don't worry we already have a couple of brides who started planning and posting before they got their rings, then we were all able to share in their excitment when their FH's finally popped the question!

Welcome to the boards!!! I was like you guys and I was going to wait until after grad school for my ring....but i couldnt wait any longer!!! I graduated in May of this year, but I got my ring October 2006. And i dont regret any minute of not waiting!!!!
