Proposal: Totally unexpected-- a Friday night after work in February a couple of weeks after I got admitted to the bar-- I was sitting on the floor playing with our kitten and dog, and he surprised me right there! It was so low key and special because our 'family' (kitty & pooch included) was all together. I had told him that I didn't want to get married until after i had finished law school, passed the bar and gotten admitted. So he waited-- about two weeks!

Met: First night of my winter break in HS, and it was snowing... stayed online all night chatting... We started talking cuz we lived near each other... started talking on the phone, hung out with friends for a while and two months later we got together! 4/6/96
Ring: Yellow Gold Tiffany style setting with round center stone, four prongs (pic is in white but mine is gold)
Proposal: We went to Atlantic City (believe it or not in 7 1/2 years together it was the first time we actually went away ALONE!). During the day I had gotten a few Angel Cheeks statues at the gift shop, and after dinner we went back to the room. I walked out of th ebathroom and saw an Angel Cheeks on the night table. I thought it was one I bought so I asked him why he took it out... then I realized it was holding a little ring box... I realized what was happening and started crying :) The ring was sitting in the angels lap. The best part was when we told my parents, my mom had bought the bride and groom angels without even knowing what was happening! (She had them saved)

Proposal: Our 5 year anniversary, last year. we had just moved in together. i was washing dishes when he came by with a blue cow statue for me, saying he 'finally bought the cow'. the cow thing had been a long running joke in his family- they REALLY wanted us to get married. i thought it was funny and stuck my hand out to take it when he pulled out the ring from behind his back and proposed. i know that is a really oddball sense of humor, but it suits us.

Proposal: long story... he made a funny version of the dessert menu from our first-date restaurant. when i ordered the dessert he had added, i got a box on a plate. opened the box expecting a ring, but inside was a note asking me to marry him, along with a picture of the funny dessert... he took the ring out of his pocket and i cried! i realize i'm not telling this too well... guess you had to be there...lol

Me: 25 - actriz, receptionizt (sorry, trying to make my life sound french accented and remotely exciting)

He: 32 Actor, teacher, and (damn good) lover


We: met at a crappy job we were both working - he was a bellman, me a concierge. He did silly things like ride on the bellcarts fast across the lobby to impress me - clearly it did. We quit after we fell in love.

Proposal: It was the week before Christmas and he had been plaing Santa Clause for all these kids all day. We were unemployed and dirt poor. 'Livin on love' kind of thing.

He came running home with painted grey eyebrows to drop to his knees seconds after walking in the door and propose (whilst crying.) The last thing I said to him right beore he dropped was 'God! You look so OLD right now.' He won't let me forget it.

The Ring: A gift from his grandmother a few weeks after the engagement. 1.5 carat princess cut diamond we had reset into a white gold solitaire band. There are 22 other diamond chips from her ring we are resetting into our bands.

Honeymoon: Caneel Bay, St John, USVI. We love a beutiful beach, and they are some of the best in the world.

Two months later I needed a shoulder to cry on when my ex dumped me. Here we are 4 1/2 years later about to get married!!!!!


Ring: What I have always dreamed of. A marquis stone w/ 2 smaller marquis stones on each side and 3 small round stones on each side as well.

Proposal: On my birthday last year. He called me over to his house very early for breakfast and surprised me with an array of rose petals all over his living room leading to the bed room where I found a small gift box on his bed.

Wedding: Ariana Waterfall April of 2005

Honeymoon: Cruise around the Caribbean. 4 days in the Dominican Republic after we return.

Met: A couple of years ago at the Hibernians. I avoided him for a ages and then realized how great he is. We started dating a year ago exactly.
Proposal: At the same restaurant we went to for our first date. We go there regularly now, so I had no idea - and he was so composed! It wasn't how he did it, but what he said that I'll never forget....
Ring: Simple, round, four-prong, in platinum (like many ladies' on here). I had the poor guy so confused with different styles, that he picked what he liked best and I LOVE IT!
Reception: Timber Point on 10/14/05. I'm happiest about getting married in our Church - St. Patrick's in Bay Shore, which is gorgeous
Dress: Rena Koh. The style is just what I imagined myself in.

Me: High School teacher- Advanced Placement World History and the Syracuse University Economics course... all essays, all the time
He: National Sales Manager for a B to B computer publication
Met: At a speeddating event but we went to college together from 1988-1990. Had the same major, lived in the same dorm (2 floors apart), each worked for the two college radio stations, have same friends and never met
until March of 2003! I guess we needed to have separate experiences
Ring: Simple, 6 prong, round cut solitare in white gold. I gave him some direction but he picked it.
Proposal: In front of the Pantheon in Rome. Meaningful because it was the only Roman structure that survived the Barbarian invasions. He didn't realize it but symbolic of our relationship.
