Meet The Parents!

Things went well!! Everyone had a really nice time and got along pretty well! No controversial topics were discussed

I was worried because there were 8 of us...FH and myself, my parents and FH's mom and step dad and dad and step mom. Lots of personalities in the room but it was fine! My mom can be a tough cookie but she's just a worry wart and very overly protective. Definitely has strong opinions on some things. By the end of the night,everyone was roaring with laughter thanks to the comedy provided by our dads. They got along too well it was almost scary!

Now we can proceed to schedule our food tasting!

I just went through the first meeting. Picture this: My mom and dad are divorced, and my dad was coming with his girlfriend. My FH's parents are almost 30 years older than my parents. My father is loud and is known for his proficient use of foul language. FH's parents have at least 10 pictures of Jesus....in their bedroom alone.

I was SO NERVOUS! Not only are my parents meeting my ILs for the first time, but my parents have to spend the entire day with each other!

It ended up being pretty good, all things considered. Everyone was on good behavior and tried to make conversation with each other. I didn't eat a thing though because I was so stressed about it. I ate my entire dinner at home when it was just me and FH.

I completely understand your nerves!

Omg- I think we have the same parents and ILs...I have the EXACT same situation....except my didn't isn't the one with foul language...its his horrible girlfriend...too weird!
