Meeting w/ Patken & Duet this weekend UPDATE

Hi Ladies. So I'm finally meeting with photographers. I've chosen to meet with Duet and Patken, so far.

Could you guys tell me what questions I should ask them? What should I make sure they provide us with?

Also what are their packages like, what is included /not included? How much will it cost me for both just photography or photography and video?

Likewise which teams are good/bad from those places?

So I went to both and it seems like you get more for your $$ with Duet. The only teams they have open for my date is David, TJ and Sam.

For Patken they reccomended Steve for us.

For those girls that have used DUet or Paken and have worked with any of those photographers...what has your experience been like?

Also, do you know of any other photographers that may be a little cheaper?

you can ask them what kind of work are they known for- are they more of a portait person, candid shots etc. also if the person you are meeting with will be the actual person at the wedding the day of.

as far as packages I am sure they will have a list to show and compare etc.

I met wtih patken and Duet.. AND BOOKED WITH DUET! I am sure you will see why!! Patken did not offer as many pictures as DUEt did and duet gave me two photographers for a cheaper price than Patken.. My friend just used them on Feb. 15 for her wedding and they were amazing ( I was the MOH)... They were so creative and on top of e verything and didnt leave until the end of the last song.. and then stayed like 10 more minutes.. They also had a videographer that was amazing as well! I just thought Patken was a little too seductive for me.. for wedding pictures.. and I just really clicked with DUEt.. i met wtih Eric there!Good luck!

We have DUET too & are using Alberto's team. They will show you their different packages, what's included & pricing....

I booked with Patken and they are AMAZING! You can see some of their work if you go to my BM's pics (gothbride55). We booked the same photog. as her (Vinny) and they did my Engagement Pics. So far, we've had a great experience.

we booked patken, steve was our photographer. he was so much fun and pleasant to work with - you didnt' even realize he was there. we dont' have our proofs yet, but we noticed that during some downtime (dinner) he was actually working on our wedding photos. he did our epics, and a friend's wedding, so we cannot wait to see our pics. also w/ patken, if you know which photographer you want, you can request for them to do your wedding (as long as they're available). that's what we did.

We booked with PatKen as well. Our engagement picture came out beautiful and I'm very happy with them so far. Anytime I've had a question about anything, they have always called me back within 24 hours to answer it.

We booked with Steve from Patken and he sooooo great to work with. We really like him. Can't wait to work with him on our wedding day. His work is really good also. He books up fast.

I'm not sure what you are paying with Duet, but I can tell you that Thomas Paul was very reasonable in price. If you are interested in his pricing, FM me.

I can't offer you any questions to ask besides cost to purchase photos after the package has been picked and after the wedding day. Patken told us it is cheaper to add photos AFTER our proofs were done.

FH and I also considered Duet. We felt that Patken offered a more professional package. The photos and albums we viewed at Patken were just more vivid and crisp. The other thing I love about patken was that all proofs have been touched up.

Duet, even the finished product, couldn't touch Patkens quality in our opinion. For 500$ - 1000$ more, Patken was still an easier choice to make for us.

We are getting both photo and video

I want to add too.. that our friend used Duet and there was never a moment we didnt see them snapping pictures, they seemed to capture every moment church - recep, but were never intrusive

I was recently at another wedding where DUET was not used and her photographer sat in the back of the church and waited for pictures he wanted take... at the wedding i was at using Duet they never sat for a moment

I checked out Duet and although I heard such wonderful things about them we didn't book them. We booked with Sharpshooter!! John is awesome!! FH & I couldn't be happier with our decision!! He was reasonably priced and a pleasure to deal and work with!! He did an amazing job on our e-pics!! You can look in my album and see for yourself!!

we just picked up our proofs on thurs from Patken - Steve took our pics, and the more we look at them, the more we love them. We could not be happier w/the pics, and everyone at the wedding loved Steve - he's very personable, works quick, and captured great pics. However, I will say now that we're choosing pics for our album, I def believe the pics cost more after the album is done. If you place our album order within 2 weeks of picking up your proofs, any extras are 50% off, but even w/ that discount, DH's parents want to add over 24 pics to their album, and it wil most likely cost them about $600. if you're doing a traditional album (like we are) be sure to get a lot of pics! I cannot rave about Steve enough!!
