Mekup Artist Help-Kind of Long

Hi Girls...I am so stressed out about my makeup.

I really am not impressed with the work that I have been seeing on the makeup artists website (maybe its because I'm a makeup artist and I have very high standards).

I have a makeup artist for my my Indian wedding. She is charging me $600 but she is the best in the industry and the style of makeup is very extravagant. I just cant afford to have her do my makeup for the reception.

I haven't had any trials because I don't want to waste the money if I am not impressed with their work. I have looked at all the makeup artists that you girls have been suggesting and I only like one them so far but I have a big problem with her charging the same amount for the bride and bridesmaids. IMO brides are suppose to cost more because there is a lot more work that needs to be done (highlighting and contouring and more attention to detail).
I don't want to look like a bridesmaid I want extravagant high fashion makeup.

Am I being a bridezilla? Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I'm so tired of all this and I just need to get this booked already.

TIA

not being a bridezilla at all and you have very high standards which is understanable because this is what you do!

Check out Marianne she owns Natural Style Cosmentics in Huntington, she's done a lot of TV work and she's done my makeup a bunch of time and I'm always in love with it...I'm going in for a trial for my e-pics in August.

I was told (not by her mind you) that she charges the bride the same amount as a break for bringing her business. For her to travel to you she is doing at least four people's makeup. Florists with give the bride a break on her bouquet if she has a lot of bridesmaid bouquets sometimes but I don't think that means the bride's bouquet will look just like the bridesmaid's bouquets.

I think the most important thing is that you like the work. Is it better to pay more than your girls and not be as satisfied? However you need to feel comfortable at the same time so do whatever works for you. Just my opinion on the subject.

Hope it all works out! You'll find someone you love.

This! I Agree with this. I would rather pay the same as my girls and be satisfied with the work then pay more than my girls and not like the makeup i have on. She is a makeup artist that is on high demand and if she charges what she charges i feel its' because ppl are willing to pay that for her great work. If not her prices would have been lower in order for her to get more clients.

I dont know who you are referring to when you say 'she' but I am assuming Oksana.

I am doing a trial with Christine Martin (cmartinfaces.com) next weekend and will report back. I know her pricing definitely varies from Bride, to Mother of the Bride, to BM's. FM for more info.
