Re: Menu cards and Programs

Not a must.

Ask your hall what they do for menus and then decide how to proceed. My hall provides them but we are reprinting them to match our colors (I got a great deal on Vista Print-otherwise I would probably use the one the hall supplies). Some provide for each plate, some have a few per table and some verbally give list the menu choices.

As for programs, this is a decision based on budget and time. Getting them made is about $1 each. I am making them myself for under $20 but it took a lot of time to set it all up in word.

Re: Menu cards and Programs

I've been to multiple weddings where they did not put out menu's so I can see leaving that out. We might if we don't have time to do them ourselves because we don't want to spend a lot of money on that.
Programs I would say are more important. I've never seen anyone not do a program, but I guess you could skip it if you really wanted to. We are doing them ourselves.
I myself enjoy reading programs even if the ceremony is at the hall. I like to read who is in the wedding and follow along lol. It also can be used as a place to mention loved ones who have passed away, so it's probably a more important piece of the ceremony then a menu is to the reception.

I've never been to a wedding with a program. Can you tell me what kind of stuff goes into the program?

Im doing menus that i did myself and not bothering with programs i always throw them out and didn't think it was worth the extra stress and time especially since our ceremony is only 30 min

Menu cards and Programs

I was debating having fan programs or a simple card programs...my menus are provided by the hall but personalization is extra.

Menu cards and Programs

Hm I'm getting married at Swan Club. Not sure if they do menus. I guess I would feel programs are more important. What are most ppl using for stationary? Wedding paper divas, vistaprint or outside people? Making own programs on like word? That could work too. You use a template?

Menu cards and Programs

I think we will do them both with our own engraving company using our own motif. We found a place, Reaves engraving, that does excellent work at a great price so we ae getting both. Some people will just toss them, others will keep them as mementos forever, so we think they are nice to have for the keepsake folks, mostly family... and our scrapbook LOL

Menu cards and Programs

I am def. doing menus, I don't think Swan Club provides them, but having been a waitress in a catering hall before, it really makes the staff happy to not have to verbally state the menu to every friggin guest, especially when the DJ is doing introductions and whatnot...I would rather they get the orders done quickly so they can focus on getting people drinks/helping people/etc
