Mexico advice

We were talking about Honeymoon ideas...I think that Greece & Spain may be out because there is a whole day wasted flying issue to Greece... instead we are thinking Mexico then Spain...

Now...I have been to Mexico 2x: Cancun & Acapulco

i would go back to Cancun in a heartbeat... but what about some other places...any advice?

Cabo?

Which would you choose and also which hotels are you girls able to recommend?

PLeaseeeeeeeeee help!!

cancun i always think of young party place lol for some reason. I would say Cabo, i know a few ppl who went there for their hm and looks beautiful. Sorry dont have recommendations for hotels.

And since you have been to cancun and acapulco i would do something different.

Yeah I thought that too but there are so many big resorts there now... like that excellance resort or even if we go a little further, to PLaya Del Carmen...I dont know...Granted a bunch of my girls have recommended Cabo too...
Im confused... and sad about Greece to be honest

hmmmm my friend went to mexico for her hm, i forgot which one, i think maybe the excellence resort, i have to ask her.

Also, I just remembered that when our cruise was delayed when we went 3 years ago, well it was 2 days late so we said if it wasnt leaving that friday that we would go elsewhere. The TA had actually booked us in cabo at the Riu i think just in case and then said that if the cruise leaves on friday that she will just cancel the cabo trip. But she strongly recommended that place in cabo.

Riviera Maya has a lot of nice hotels and is close to many tours and activities. You can also look into Tulum which is a lot more quieter and low key but it has amazing beaches.

I'm going to the Riviera Maya and staying at a hotel named Valentin Imperial Maya.

I would say not Cabo...not because you wouldn't like it but you would be flying to the west coast of Mexico and then all the way back to go to Spain.....in that case might as well go to Greece and then Spain. I say the Mayan riviera if you want to do Mexico

We are going to Playa Mujeres which is like 25 minutes from Cancun, still close if we want nightlife but not so much of the crazy party place.

Rivera Maya is supposed to be great as well and the Excellence and Royal Hideaway are there and supposed to be the best.

Friends of mine went to Playa Del Carmen and loved it.

I love Cancun also!! Ive also been to Cabo which was great but if you like going in the water you will be very disappointed(I know I was!) The rip tide there is rediculous!

In addition to Cabo, Playa del Carmen and Tulum are supposed to be fantastic also..

We are going to Mexico and staying at the Excellence Riviera Cancun in Riviera Maya. Its far enough from the strip where all the partying and spring breakers are.

Cabo is really nice and you can also go to the Riviera Maya which is really close to Cancun but the hotels are much more romantic and they are all inclusive. A lot of girls on here go to Excellence Playa Mujeres which looks really nice.

Mayan Riviera is BEAUTIFUL with the ruins and everything...its about 45 min from cancun.

Well if you like the area cancun but not the party atmosphere - Cozumel is gorgeous. depends on what you are looking for.. cozumel is an island off cancun but is WAY more mellow non touristy - what kind of thing are you looking for?

yeah, i recommended Riveria Maya (aka Playa del Carmen) too!
I went last summer with FH and a 09' bride and it was great!! It's close enough to Cancun that you can go there at night if you want to go out.

FH'scousin got married and went to a FAB resort!!! we are actually thinking of going there!..

They loved it so much they bought a time share there.. Couple only..

El dorado spa resorts.. it's in Riviera Maya..wonderful place. and lots to do if you want..

We went to Cabo for our honeymoon. We looooved it. We went to Cancun prior to that for a vacation and were not at all happy with it.

Cabo is so much nicer and has so much more to offer. AND its safe.

ETA: We stayed at The Pueblo Bonito Pacfica Holistic Spa & Resort. It was gorgeous!!

There are alot of other really beautiful resorts there also.

Cabo San Jose has gorgeous hotels too!!

We went to Cabo for vacation and stayed at the Melia it was gorgeous but for us... our HM in the mayan riviera at the el dorado royale was spectacular. But maybe cuz we had a HM package. We loved cancun more tho... also we just came back and there weren't any spring breakers and it wasn't crazy hot there in Jan.

we stayed at the Royal in PLaya del Carmen its gorgeous and its right up the block from 5th ave,

we are going back and staying at Ibrostar grand in rivera maya ( i think)

mil is a TA and went to see the Royal while staying at Ibrostar grand and said Ibrostar grand is amazing and much nicer... which is hard to believe for me since Royal is gorgeous!

cant go wrong with mexico becuase there is soooooo much to do there!
