Just got a call from my Aunt that the State Dept. issued a warning that no one should travel to Mexico due to the drug wars. Anyone else hear about this?
Is cabo near the borders? Not too familiar with where exactly in Mexico it is
Cabo is not near the border I think cabo is a peninsula usually touristic areas are more safe as long as you don't wonder off the resorts or area you are gonna be at you should be ok. I am going to Cancun on Tuesday with my best friend and her sister and we were really scared due to this but I did lots of research and hear from people that had recently gone that it was pretty safe and tranquil. The thing in Acapulco over the weekend wasn't near the hotels and turistic areas it was more in the town..Don't worry as long as you take precaution everything will be ok

I was in mexico for 10 days and got back last week for our HM...we stayed in 2 places , one near Cancun and one in Playa del Carmen and we found no problems at all. We felt safe enough to walk around. I guess it depends on where you are going but we were totally safe.
