Without a doubt the Moon Palace in cancun is one of the nicest resorts I have ever been to. It is not on the strip it is secluded but still close enough if you want to go to the strip. Please atleast look at the palce on-line, you won't be disappointed

We went to cabo San Lucas in January of last year and it was nice. The only thing is that make sure wherever you stay that you are allowed to swim in the water at the hotel... the undertoe was so bad at our hotel we had to take a bus ($12.50 round trip pp) to another place where we could swim.
Are you scared of a possible hurricane? that fear is weighing so heavy on my mind... that is why I am having such a hard time booking my HM

FH and I almost chose mexico for our HM. I researched sooo many places and our choices were:
Secrets Capri Excellence Riviera Maya Excellence Isla Mujeres (opening this fall) El Dorado Seaside Suites
They have great reviews on trip advisor!!

Re: Mexico~HM
what about alcapulco (or however you spell it!)- its beautiful and the hurricanes usually avoid it since its on the west coast of mexico.

My aunt just got back from Punta Cana and they stayed here and loved it. I want to go for my honeymoon (they have a whole wing and seperate area for adults only with butler service around the clock), but am just scared of the weather.
but maybe you are right, just be optomistic and hope for the best!

Re: Mexico~HM
We went to Riviera Maya a few years ago and it was soo beautiful!! Not crazy like Cancun at all and a lot to do (unless you want to sit around the hotel all day which is also fun)
We stayed at Bahia Principe. It is All Inclusive, but not an Ultra All inclusive. Food and service were good (rum drenched fruit and paella by the pool- its all I need!)
It was very affordable too. I don't know what you are looking for in your HM. It's not Moon Palace, but it is nice.
Definitely check out all hotels on tripadvisor.com (I always recommend this site)
There is another one that is supposed to be good. I will ask FH when he comes home. Its supposed to be 5 diamond rating.
