Middle of the week wedding?

I have always wanted to get married on the 4th of July but, for 2006 it falls on a tuesday If I had my wedding in the middle of the week on a holiday week no less, would less people come to the wedding? Please give me honest opinions, would you go to a wedding in the middle of the week (night wedding) if you were invited to one or would you be annoyed that the person was throwing a wedding on a Tuesday. TIA

I would probably not go..my job is senority based on days off..so everyone is going to want to take that weekend off.. I don't drink if I have to work the next day either..to me a wedding without a lot of drinking lacks party..but I am also Irish, and could care less what food you are serving, I just enjoy a loud drunk party..and I think people will be hesitant to get loaded mid week

Since you asked for honest opinions, I will give you one back. My attendance would depend on how close I was with the bride and groom. My job tends to give either the day before or the day after the 4th off too, so if its a close friend, I might already have time off in which to travel. If its your dream, then I'd say go for it....but you may get a lot of 'nos' from out of towners. Good Luck with your decision!
