Can you get married in a Catholic church if you live together??? I never really wanted to get married in a church, but now I'm leaning towards marrying in a church.
So does anyone live with their FH and getting married in a church?

Re: might be a stupid question...
of course you can.
although most priest look down on it. i know a lot of girls just give separate addresses for them & their FH, just not to start any problems.

Well, when we 1st went to meet with our priest, we had to fill out paperwork with our address and he saw it was the same address. He didn't say anything. Maybe every church is different...

It's frowned upon... some churches make more of a big deal than others... our church is very strict... three of my friends teach in their school and they almost fired one of them because she was living w/her fiance.

Agreed. And it totally depends on the church, but most are more lenient now.
FH isn't even Catholic AND we live together. We had to get 'permission' for an 'interfaith' marriage, and on the paper we had to put our address. We didn't lie, we put the same address for both. The priest just said 'oh ok you already live together' and moved on. A week later we had our official ok from the diocese.
I wouldn't say anything if they don't ask. But if they ask, I also wouldn't lie about it.

FH and I live together and are getting married in a Catholic Church. When we met with the church and they asked our addresses, we didn't lie and gave them the same address. I felt weird giving the same address but our Deacon didn't react weird or anything.

Don't tell them....give your moms address for yourself and let you FH give his mom's address as his. What they don't know won't hurt them.

Mine didn't even question our same address. I guess it depends on the church.

I agree...don't lie about it....Besides, the catholic church is being scrutinized everyday, who are they to judge? We cant even get married in church because FH was already married! Thats why we chose destination wedding
