MIL/FMIL - Has anyone ever had the impression....

...that they are telling their son lies and/or stretching the truth about something related to you?

At times - she sometimes exaggerates and lies, to the point I won't go over to their place until I calm down and make FH set the truth straight.

Re: MIL/FMIL - Has anyone ever had the impression....

No, only because mine doesn't get to talk to DH that much (her own doing), and he knows that I don't talk to her enough for her to have any idea of the truth about me.

You would not be the first person to think that about their MIL/FMIL, however.

No but there is drama at times that she creates about herself.

Re: MIL/FMIL - Has anyone ever had the impression....

yes she does sometimes-- she'll stretch the truth or manipulate whatever to either make her point or make herself appear better... and then she does ODD things like for example, last night:

my FH was studying to be a pharmacist and he needs to take three chemistry and anatomy courses and then go toward more specific pharmacy classes. recently, my sister and i (it dawned on us) that FH loves animals so much-- why doesn't he just become a Vet? becoming either a pharmacist or a vet is both a lot of work so if he is going to be doing all that work it might as well be for something that he really loves. so i asked him and he thought about it for weeks, looked into it and realized that the anatomy and chem classes he's taking now he would have had to take to be a vet anyway-- so there is no 'wasting' and no harm done-- so instead of going toward pharmacy after this anatomy and chem class is done he'll just apply to vet schools.. it's a little longer of a program but he has a passion for it where the other (pharm.) was just a 'good job' and since he is smart enough he figured why not? so last night he tells FMIL this and she said good for you, what made you think of this? and he said well i never really thought about it before, i don't know why, but danielle (me) and her sister after taking our dogs to the vet and meeting this nice, young Dr. who reminded me of my FH-- it just popped into our heads so she got all upset-- 'Vinny, I was the one who told you to be a Vet, all along it was ME who told you-- I gave you the idea' and I was immediately said 'wait a minute, he's not saying that you never suggested it, he said you did a lot along with being a regular MD-- he's just saying RECENTLY it popped into his mind b/c we happened to ask why didn't you ever consider it?' so she was all annoyed for the entire night... i mean, c'mon? WHATS THE DIFFERENCE???? what does it matter who told him-- it's just nice that he has found a career path that he is passionate about!!!

It's things like that-- she needs to be #1 in his eyes and any time i suggest something or have a good idea or anything like that-- she either ignores it or goes on and on about how she had it first or 'i always thought of that before she said it' it's SO Annoying-- sorry for the long vent but this just reminded me and it's been bothering me and stuff happens like this EVERY DAY
