Re: Miller Place Inn Brides
It is on caroline ave. i believe in east setauket (west of the Caroline Church) There is a very large pond there with a beautiful bridge and little mill house that is cute for those elegant country pictures. The bamboo forest is literally just a path cut through a large thicket of bamboo reeds that's in the shade. It might make for an interesting back drop.

Sounds like the Frank Melville Memorial Park. Was there a cute little post office building at the park entrance, beside the pond?

You're right, it's that one! I don't know why I thought it was called Mill Pond. Maybe because there's a mill and a pond, haha.

Miller Place Inn Bridal Thread
How many guests are you all having? And are you doing high or low centerpieces?

Re: Miller Place Inn Brides
I think we are having around 130 people and we are doing low centerpieces. I felt that the ceilings were to low for high ones

Re: Miller Place Inn Brides
I'm hoping we can keep it no more than 110! I've been thinking about high candelabras with a little pedestal for some flowers at the top - but if those are way too much $$ I might just do the low as I originally planned with little candles around. The oval tables make it more difficult I think because there is so much more room in the center it feels like there should be two on each table or something. I'm also getting the chair covers. Are you getting a band or dj? I'm still debating whether both a dj and mc are necessary, or if the dj/mc combo is sufficient.

Yeah, I hope we can really stay at 115-120. I just don't know if that is going to happen! I agree that the oval tables kind more in the middle. I plan on doing ( I think) 3 little sets of flowers going across the table. I will try to find pics. I have a DJ and MC. I think the combo would be fine but we also know that the MC helps to keep a time line of events and we just happened to really like the guy we met with.

I like the idea of 3 small pieces in the center of the table. Do you have any pics?

Re: Miller Place Inn Brides
Any 08ers want to split the cost of large candleabras or other decorative stuff? We can have the items shipped directly to MPI so they are easily accessible to both of us. Also, I have tons of votive holders that I'll never use again after my wedding....I'd be happy to leave them at MPI for anyone to use (with Christopher's approval of course). But how awesome would it be to have a perpetual donation of wedding supplies for us and for future MPI brides to select from. If you're interested FM me and together we'll find some beautiful things!!

Re: Miller Place Inn Brides
Good question. I haven't set one up. Who is the first bride in 08 at MPI? I think I should call to schedule an appt. Did anyone go to the showcase in January?
