I'm going to try to do the cake tasting right after or before the bridal showcase, I feel like I dont know what else I should be doing right now.... *crickets crickets* lol Might try to figure out what I want as far as centerpieces and extra decor here and there.
Also, I am having second thoughts about having the ceremony in the atrium only because that is also where the cocktail hour. but I absolutely ADORE that room. I wasnt a huge fan of the outside ceremony space though...hmmm. Thoughts?
BTW--silly detail but how gorgeous is the super girly ladies room.
I don't remember the ladies room! I heard they redid the bridal suite upstairs too but I haven't seen it since we booked in Jan.

We're waiting to find out if we're getting married at a specific church .. if not, then we will get married in the atrium :) It's gorgeous! I just saw a Jay R Castillo video on vimeo of a ceremony in the atrium and it looked so magical :)
I knooooooooow I love it! I just, I dont know---does it take away from the quest experience if the ceremony and the cocktail hour are in the same room?
I love the atrium, gosh I love it so lol. I just went to a wedding last night and OF COURSE all these things are going through my head and I'm bugging out, not to mention I need a dress ASAP and still am looking.
Sigh.
oh BIG BIG BIG tip and something for us to think about... how many and the location of the bars. The wedding I went to last night had only one bar in the cocktail room which I though was stupid because there was a huge line and it was a HUGE room so if you were at one end of the room you had to walk alllll the way over to the other end just for a drink. I think I can only remember there being two bars total? is that correct?

Crashing! We just booked the Milleridge Cottage for 10/18/2014. We are having the ceremony in the atrium as well! When we went over the weekend, they had the whole place set up for a party that was starting, and Pam the Matre'd had the whole place decorated with candles, I couldn't believe how pretty it looked!

Also, are any of you ladies using the Milleridge florist for your centerpieces and bouquets? The BM, David, said their new florist is Scott, and he said he's excellent. The woman they had previously had a bad reputation for showing up late to things, etc. I was wondering what your thoughts were? He also said they don't charge delivery since it's right across the parking lot lol...

sooo i won tickets for the barenaked ladies on oct. 17th on the radio lol and although I'm excited to go to a free concert, I'm going to have to miss the bridal showcase at the milleridge :(If you girls go, could you let me know if they have a photobooth there and where it was set-up? I'm still trying to figure out where the best place to put ours is, and was hoping that there might be one there that I could see in the room
Also, if they have a date for when they are doing another showcase let me know!

Also just a side note: I called the Milleridge to find out a definite date for the showcase to see if it is still going to be on the 17th or if it moved to a different date... nobody is at the cottage today, but the admin. offices for the whole place said they think it may be the 24th now and that we should call back tomorrow when the people are at the cottage. I will let you all know when I find out a definite date for the showcase, but you have to call the offices to RSVP if you plan on going!

Def! And you know what I was thinking too? when you are staring at the sweetheart table against the fire place, if you look directly to you right, by where there are doors to go outside, I think that would be an awesome spot for a photo booth, there's a big window there and sooo much empty (not empty in a bad way though) to work with that I remember it stuck out in my head.
I read some of the other thread about your moms response to having one lol----so funny one of two (yes thats right, I get TWO FMIL) of my FMIL said she thinks its 'sweet sixteen tacky.' YET, the whole family went to his cousins wedding two weeks ago, at which they had a photo booth--and everyone LOVED it and insisted we have one at hours. By everyone I mean the youngest guests of 13yrs old to the oldest of 80 something.
I don't know. If you love the idea and it's in a discrete location of the venue, why not? Besides you can pick your own props depending on how you decide to do it--and if you want props at all.
