Awesome!!!! Will there be a bunch of different flavor samples to try when you get there? Or did you give her flavors you liked and those are the cakes you will take home to try?

update: the silver menu was now updated on the website and now says 3 tier cake, BUT they never changed the 5 chafing dishes or 2 carving station option!!!! I guess they aren't changing that :)

Is there a photo book at the cake shop with designs to pick from? Or is that when we get closer to our date?

There is a book at the shop but the pics are kinda old and have alot of the reallllly old school traditional wedding cakes in them. I think when it gets closer we can show the bakery some pics of what we want them to re-create. You definitely aren't limited to just what's in their book

We asked about a food tasting when we dropped off our last deposit. You have to let them know beforehand and they let you know which date your menu is being offered for a tasting. You then need to let them know- i believe its a week- ahead of time 3 cake choices of the various fillings, cake flavors, frostings. They'll have them for you at the food tasting. They gave us a list of all the choices when we asked about it.

Jen told me to call a month before we want to do our food tasting because they like to schedule multiple couples to come in

yeah she told me the same- she also recommended waiting so that we try right around the time we choose our menu options for the wedding, and so that we are trying the most recent and up-to-date menu options. We will probably wait until after the holidays

It was great! The cakes were delicious- I loved the whipped cream but we are gonna go with buttercream because it seems like it'll decorate better... We got chocolate mocha, vanilla with custard, and chocolate Bavarian cream... All were so delicious

I'm going to try to do the cake tasting right after or before the bridal showcase, I feel like I dont know what else I should be doing right now.... *crickets crickets* lol Might try to figure out what I want as far as centerpieces and extra decor here and there.

Also, I am having second thoughts about having the ceremony in the atrium only because that is also where the cocktail hour. but I absolutely ADORE that room. I wasnt a huge fan of the outside ceremony space though...hmmm. Thoughts?

BTW--silly detail but how gorgeous is the super girly ladies room.

We're waiting to find out if we're getting married at a specific church .. if not, then we will get married in the atrium :) It's gorgeous! I just saw a Jay R Castillo video on vimeo of a ceremony in the atrium and it looked so magical :)
