Mini review...mansion at the woodlands

I went to an e-party at the mansion at the woodlands yesterday. It was a nice building, but busy as there's also a restaurant there. As it was a good day, there were golfers all around (it's located on the oyster bay gold course).

The food was good (not amazing, but good). I was very surprised when my ravioli came out with balsamic vinegarette on it (i was expecting red or white sauce), but it was very good. I also liked the cookies, apple crisp, and the ice cream cake (made by the groom-to-be's family).

I would recommend this venue to people with smaller wedding parties who don't mind sharing the building. I liked the fact that it's on a golf course, but FH didn't. I thought it had the potential for beautiful pictures.

I went to a wedding there last year. Its beautiful. Although there is a restarant there you don't notice it at all during the reception. And its the only wedding taking place so it seems like you have it all to yourself.
The wedding I was at booked the bar for an afterparty till 2am, that was really fun,

that is what we didnt like about it. I didnt like the golfers right outside the doors of the room or that their was a resuarant with people walking in and out.

it was very nice otherwise.. although when we went their was a musty smell in the room.. but not sure what that was.

I didnt see any golfers when FH and I went to visit. We kinda got lost bec its hidden but It was very nice we thought. I like that the rooms had dark wooden walls but some of the rooms did have a musky/moldy smell to them. The ballroom was not positioned correctly, people sitting in the back will have no idea what is going on in the front. We got a great deal, but decided against it.

I actually stopped by there after the engagement party you attended to have my tasting.

Just as an FYI for those looking to have their wedding there, they don't have multiple weddings at the same time. That day they just happened to have an auction in the ballroom and the engagement party in the cocktail area.
