Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

Younger would be Miss. I think once you are in your late 20s and up it would be Ms - certainly 30 and over it would be Ms

Everything I get in the mail or from school is Ms. and I'm 22 if that helps you decide at all.

Only married are Mrs.--- so you would use Ms.

Ms. is a pretty safe bet because it covers a wide variety of people of different age ranges & marital statuses (stati?)

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

Personally I prefer to use 'Miss' no matter how old they are. I know you are supposed to use 'Ms.' after a certain age, and probably will do so on formal things such as wedding invites. It just sounds so old and ugly. If I was a single woman above a certain age, I would prefer to be called Miss! JMO

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

im 25 and i actually perfer to be addressed as Ms. I feel like I was a miss in h.s. and I am a grown professional now and like that to be acknowledged. However on a side note i hate when kids refer to me as ma'am...im too young for that lol

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

Ms. is actually a whole political thing too.

It's asserting that a woman can just be a woman and not be defined by a man (Miss or Mrs.) since Ms. is applicable for both married and unmarried women, so it could depend on who you are addressing as well.

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

It might just be me, but I only refer to girls under ten as Miss and everyone older is a Ms. , unless they are married, then I would do Mrs.

ITA
I address everyone as Ms.
But, I also kept my maiden name and still go by Ms. although I am married.

Never call someone Mrs. just because they are above 30. Mrs. means you are married - nothing to do with age.

Mrs is only if you are married or a widow....

Otherwise address them as Ms

Everyone has there own way of doing it.....

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

for my invites I had used Miss for anybody in their 20's or younger. The others all got Ms. Especially those who were divorced (that's one that got me so confused when I was doing it. lol)

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

You can use Ms. for any unmarried single woman. If you are unsure of what to use, just use Ms. It's like a Mr. for man

Re: Miss, Ms or Mrs??????

Ms. is appropriate for a woman who is not currently married and over the age of 18.

Mrs. is appropriate for a woman who is currently married, regardless of age.

Miss is appropriate for girls who are under the age of 18.
