Ms. I thought it was more age appropriate. I also used that for widows and older women who have never been married

Miss is typically used for young girls/ladies. Ms. is for older unmarried/divorced/widowed women.

I agree with Ms.

I just recently received my best friend's invite to her wedding and it was addressed

Mr. Michael ---- and
Miss Christine ----

I found this to be very strange.

Technically Miss is also proper. Ms. has just become more commonly used since the 1970s and because it's all encompassing (it can be interpreted as Miss or Mrs., so whether the women is single, married, divorced or married but did not take her husbands name, the title works because its kind of a title not associated with marital status) so its kind of the safe way to go. But yes, technically if you are an unmarried woman, your title is Miss. (E.g. 'Miss Catherine Middleton' on the royal wedding invitations). I think especially in the modern age and in America, we more associate 'Miss' with young girls, and Ms. with a female professional.

I'm using Ms. or Mrs. for all the women, and Miss only for the very young girls on the list.

Same here ... I felt Miss was a bit juvenile, I used Ms. for divorcees too ...
