I posted this in B2B but also wanted to put it here incase some ladies surf this forum more often then that one.
Ok, this is a tough one ladies....
My future sister-in-law's best friend got married this past weekend and she noticed a card was missing from her now husbands uncle. How do you approach something like this? The girl who got married asked my future sister-in-law her opinion and she then asked me. The girl doesn't know if it was maybe a mistake and he forgot to give it to them, or if he did it intentionally. The girl doesn't want to start any arguments but doesn't know what to do. Should she just drop it??
Thanks ladies!!

Re: Missing gift
Since I have yet to go through this myself (18 days left) I can only quote some past brides advice.... There is no tactful way to bring this up really....
He does have 1 year to give a gift (I think that's the time frame) and he may be sending one after the wedding....
I would definitely wait and see what happens....again, this is only the advice that I have seen past brides give.

Re: Missing gift
So you don't think she or her husband should mention anything to his sister (mother of the groom) right? they don't want to start a family war or anything. I will suggest to future sister-in-law that her friend doesn't mention a word.

Re: Missing gift
I was missing quite a few cards at my wedding. Although I HATE this rule...ettiquette says people have a year to give a wedding gift.
I would tell your friend to try to be patient!

Re: Missing gift
I wouldn't say anything. Gifts are not to be expected, they are appreciated.

Re: Missing gift
I guess if the uncle did give a card and he notices that they haven't cashed his check, then I'm sure HE would say something to them. Otherwise, I'm afraid I would agree with Sage & Kelly.
