Misspelling in my invitations!!

Misspelling in my invitations!!

if you know everything I've gone through with my envelopes, you won't believe this! My invites are late as it is, so our invite company got them out to us right away. then we had to reorder them b/c of a mistake made in the time by the hall.

Now, I started stuffing them and realized accommodation is spelled wrong on our accomodation/direction cards!! I just want to cry. Now, we'll have to reorder the cards, pay for them (the mistake was our fault, we had several proofs and never caught it) and wait until next weekend to send them....

I just want to cry.

Oh my, I am so sorry
How exactly is it spelled?
And did you send it to them mispelled or did they mispell it on their own?
Just b/c you had proofs doesn't mean you should have to pay for the mistake if it is their mistake.
Good Luck - don't worry, it will all work out

Re: You won't believe this

if you missed it in so many proofs, is it that noticable? can you leave it?

I know it will bug you, but your guests won't notice, or hold it against you.

Re: You won't believe this

It was totally my mistake. I looked at the original word file and I misspelled it.

FH wants to just send them since it's such a small thing, but I just can't see having really nice invitations with a misspelling in them...wouldn't that make us look kind of stupid?

Re: You won't believe this

Thats if anyone even notices.
If they do, they'll always think it's the printer's fault anyway.

Re: You won't believe this

its not on the invite itself, right? - its on an additional insert card (does every guest get the card, or just out of town folks?).

How's it spelled? Liz is right - they'll blame the printer (if they even notice).

I don't know what to do I'm also so mad at FH, I asked him to proof these and now he tells me he was busy at work so he just glanced at it!!!

Re: You won't believe this

It's spelled accomodations. And, every guest gets it b/c it's a two sided card and directions are on the other side.

The Card is small (3'X5') and says:

Accomodations are available at:

The Harrison House
516-671-6400
The bride and groom, wedding party and several guests will be staying at the Harrison House for the weekend. Please feel free to join us if you can!

Howard Johnson
(516) 333-9700
This hotel is about a half an hour from the ceremony/reception location.

Rooms have been blocked until June 25th at both locations and are available at a reduced rate. Please refer to the Holland/McNally wedding when making a reservation.

More information is available on the bride & groom's website at www.theknot.com

Re: You won't believe this

It's late, maybe I'm just not seeing correctly, but where is it mispelled?

Re: You won't believe this

Accommodations should be accomModations

Re: You won't believe this

Oh, I see now, it should have 2 m's.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think anyone will notice that. I sure didn't and I looked at it over and over again
i would send them out as is.

But did you spell making like that? (it's spelled makeing above)

Re: You won't believe this

I would just send them out. I highly doubt anyone will notice... most people wont do anything more than glance at the card. Good luck either way!

Re: You won't believe this

No I didn't spell make that way

You really think it's ok to send? I'd be embarrassed if anyone knew I couldn't spell-what do you think?

Re: You won't believe this

Girl, no one is even going to realize.

Re: You won't believe this

Also, at least it's not on the actual invitation itself. Go for it, mail those babies out.

Re: You won't believe this

Do you think it will diminish the elegance of our invitations?

Re: You won't believe this

not at all - don't even give it another thought!

Re: Misspelling in my invitations!!

No...They will still look wonderful with the misspelling. I'm an english major and I didn't even notice the mistake until you pointed it out. Don't put more unneccessary stress on yourself. If anyone notices, just act as if it is your first time seeing it also. Don't worry about it. Move on to your next task and think about your beautiful wedding day

Good Luck Planning

Re: Misspelling in my invitations!!

It'll be so hard letting them go out like this...I spent so much time picking invitations and I really really love them, and now they have a mistake
