Re: Mom down the aisle?
My mom keeps pushing me to do this. I wouldn't mind except my parents are divorced and I think that would just be weird.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
I'm having both of my parents walk me down the aisle. I don't have any brothers or sisters so it just seemed right to have my whole immediate family together.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My mom will be walked down the aisle by my brother who is in the wedding party. Then, just my dad is going to walk me down the aisle. It is more traditional and I am the only girl.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My mother didn't want to take away from my father walking me down (I wanted them both) so to compromise, (and since my FH has such a big family) One of his brothers will be walking her down the isle. We are also doing this with my FH's mother.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My parents walked me down together. IMO, if your parents raised you together adn are still together it's unfair to honor your father and not your mother in that way. I know it's a tradition, but as a woman it would make me sad if I were to have a daughter and she only asked her father to escort her down the aisle.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My Father passed away 9-years ago, so my Mother will be walking me down.
I have seen it more then ever, both parents walking the bride down though.
It's a personal choice IMO

Re: Mom down the aisle?
i believe (dont quote me on this) its jewish tradition for both parents to walk the bride down. my parents are divorced but i still plan on both of them walking me. they wont mind though. i guess it would be awkward if they didnt get along though.

We're jewish and it's traditional in a jewish wedding that both the mother and father walk the bride (and also the groom and his parents) down the aisle. My parents are also divorced, and nobody thought it was weird. They are still YOUR parents.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My parents are divorced too. My father was offended that I wanted my Mom up there only because it's tradition for just the Dad. SO I had the idea that when I got to the altar, she could stand up and kiss me after he raises my blusher and kisses me. That way she would feel involved. Also, when the priest asks who gives this woman.....Dad says 'her mother and I do'. HTH!

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My parents are divorced (they get along well) and my father actually recommended that I ask my mom to walk me down the aisle also. We are Catholic, and tradition if for the father to walk the bride down the aisle, but I prefer the Jewish tradition with both parents. I asked my mom, but she feels that it's my father's time and that he should do it alone.

Both are walking me down. That's the way I want it. I don't think I could bear walking down the aisle and seeing my mom at the end crying!

Re: Mom down the aisle?
Both are walking me down the aisle, my mom put up a big fight about it because I only wanted my daddy to walk me down. She really wanted to do it though, so I am letting her.

Funny my mom was the opposite, she wanted just my dad to walk me down, but I did have my mom do a reading, I wanted to include her somehow.
