I am having both parents walk me down.
I felt like it would be a nice way to honor.

Both my parents walked me down the aisle. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

That is how i feel, but i thought i would be breaking tradition or something.
i guess traditions are made to be broken right?

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My mom said that she understood that it has probably always been my dad's dream to walk his little girl down the aisle and she wanted him to have his moment....so....
My brother walked my mom down and then when my dad walked me down, we stopped where my mom was and she came out of her pew and walked with us over to DH.....it was very special.

My mom keeps pushing me to do this. I wouldn't mind except my parents are divorced and I think that would just be weird.
My parents are divorced, and this was the only thing that they agreed on. They BOTH want to walk me down to FH. They will also be introduced at the reception together (first names only, as they aren't married) because to add in all the other step parents would make us look like we had an entourage We make the Brady Bunch look like a small group!

Re: Mom down the aisle?
my mom and stepdad are walking me down the aisle. my mom raised me and my stepdad more of a dad to me then my real father is or ever will be to me.
i let my mom decide what she wanted if she wanted to watch me walk down with my stepdad or if she wanted to walk down with me and him she opted for walking down the aisle with me so i am happy. either way i would of been fine with me. what ever she wished.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
At first the plan was to have my mother walk down the aisle with her brother-my uncle- I do not have any siblings---she wanted my dad to have his moment-tradition and all- but i know deep down she wanted to walk me...and I wanted her there too- as an only child I am very close to both of my parents- they both raised me and so I decided that they should both walk me down the aisle...
actually, FH is being walked down the aisle too-by both of his parents... I have seen it done and it is very sweet...

I am having both my parents walk me down the aisle! They have both been there for me through thick and thin and they both deserve to give me away. My mother was soooo happy when I told her!!

Re: Mom down the aisle?
I'm walking alone. My parents are divorced and they don't get along, and both want to. I'mm 33, I just felt I have been on my own so long and FH and I are paying for the wedding, I'd rather just walk myself.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My dad passed away years ago, so I think my mom is going to walk me down the aisle. I thought I might go by myself, but she didn't like the idea of that. I just wanted to make sure she'd be able to see me walking down the aisle if she wanted to, so she may meet me half way and do the 'hand off' to FH.

My mom will be walked down the aisle by my brother who is in the wedding party. Then, just my dad is going to walk me down the aisle. It is more traditional and I am the only girl.
Same for me...

Re: Mom down the aisle?
i am catholic and to top it off i am a very traditional catholic. my father will be walking me down the aisle. i love my mother dearly and it doesn't mean i love her any less (she has no problem with this) it's just that i feel it's something for my father and i to do together and to share together... nothing against my mom and she totally understands this. father's don't get to do too many things (my mom helps every step of the way in the planning and is so involved) so my dad gets the car ride with me alone to the church, walk me down the aisle, give me away and then the dance-- it's not much in the whole scheme of things so i couldn't and didn't want to take any of that away from him.
but it's your day just like it's going to be my day so you can do it however you want!! everyone has different ideas of what's 'nice' in their eyes-- so you do what you feel comfortable with and everyone else should respect your feelings.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
We are very traditional, so my all three of us (my mom, dad and I) have always envisioned my dad walking me down the aisle. Its something I have been looking forward to all my life.
The MOB is next in line of importance in my book. I think it is an honor to be the MOB.
My brother is walking her down.

Re: Mom down the aisle?
My parents are divorced and they both walked me down the aisle (per my request). It was definitely the right choice for me.
