when you hold the shoes up to the dress that are nearly identical. My mom is having a hissyfit because she thinks the color is way to dark for a June wedding.
What do I do girls? Do I return the shoes (get them in white) and find a different color for the BM's?? This is making me nuts bc I don't want people to be like wow thats a dark color for June...
I was all excited too that the colors were finally coming together..

honestly - i love the dress AND the color. i think it'd be fine for a june wedding. i feel your pain though - my mom did the same thing to me.

I agree. The color don't have to match at all.
The only reason I feel that certain colors are for certain seasons is for the flower choices. Some flowers in certain colors may not be readily available at certains points of the year, or they may be available for a higher cost.

Its your wedding, do what you want! Did you say if it was a day or night wedding? If you are concerned and want to lighten it up a bit maybe use some nice light pink flowers...I think that would help soften it. But I think the dresses and shoes will look great and are not too dark!

its an evening wedding. And I am even doing a short dress to make it not soo dark..
I knew all of you ladies would be on my side..but she just makes me constantly second guess myself

If you love the BM dress go with it.. don't change your shoes, they are awesome... but you could also get a complimenting color to the shoes for the flowers and then the BM dresses could be contrast of that or maybe a lighter purple..
I got lighter blue (royal blue) shoes but my bridesmaids dresses are navy blue and I think we're doing yellow/white bouquets...

the flowers are going to be white/cream/pale pink/ and a pop of purple.
the flowers are going to be light so I thought the dark purple gave a nice contrast..
she got thrown through a loop when i showed her the shoes (she was like YOU ARE SO NON-TRADITIONAL!!) then I came home showing her the color for the BM's and she went batty..and this is coming from the person who wears dark colors year round!! she makes me laugh sometimes!

i dont think that is to dark for June at all. Especially if you are going to use light flowers....
I love the dress AND the shoes. I think its perfect! Just tell your mom you really like it and she should be understanding.....

i think the flowers will look great with those dresses!! they will really stand out!
my mom did the same thing with the shoes when i todl her i wanted to dye them. so i m keeping em white to appease her (its a little give in my book and it made her happy lol)
but i think it would looke great together! and the shoes are so pretty!

well, if you are having that length, then it doesnt matter what color they are in. They could be black and it would be fine because they are short dress's.
AND if they are darker, but short, it makes them a little more formal.

Aw! I think thats what moms are for. Mine rarely seems to be enthusiastic about my choices which makes me doubt them all too! But dont worry, it will look amazing. Especially for an evening wedding and with light flowers....it will be perfect!

loveeeeee these (my sister got these in silver to wear with the BM dress that is plum)
i then got my shoes in that color in the picture. then again, I am a november bride but i still think you should pick the colors that YOU love and fh too

Those shoes are HOT!
My girls wore BLACK to a May wedding, so, no I don't think your colors are too dark. I say pffffft to the rule that says you have to have light colors in the spring. Maybe you can have a lighter accent color? That's what we did- we had apple green. HTH!
