Good Morning Ladies, Hope you have a wonderful Monday. I am so happy to be BOTW. Last night, hanging out with FH, we were talking about what we originally wanted for our wedding. Which brings me to my first question.
*****Are your wedding plans what you originally thought of/wanted? Have they changed? If so how, why?****
I always said I wanted something small, beach wedding. After getting engaged in montauk, we decided wed get married in montauk or destination. IDK what happened but we are not on the water, and having about 120 as oppose to 5 ha. I LOVE our choice..but its so funny how things changed. Everyone told me this would happen when we got engaged cause I was obsessed with wedding shows and planning!
Oh well, curious of your answers!

I really really wanted a very small wedding because large crowds make me feel anxious. Like.... I can't walk into Roosevelt Field during Christmas because I have panic attacks and freak out...
FH and I have been together for 9 years though... so both our family & our friends expect to all be invited. We scratched the small wedding idea and are now having a 200 + wedding. I just need to try to be calm for the wedding and walk down the aisle and it will be fine (I think).

I never thought I would get married, ha! I think maybe when I was younger I dreamt of getting married but anytime recently I just never thought about it.
Since getting engaged FH and I decided we wanted a big wedding, the one time the day is really OURS! So we've booked a beautiful venue and are all ready until we realized that well... our circle of friends is smaller then it was in college and we don't need to invite people just to invite people. Also, all his people are coming in from the west coast so we will have a lot of regrets from his side.
Currently we're looking at about 100 ppl which is our minimum. Looking back on it now I feel like we should have grabbed a smaller venue but I love Giorgio's soo here's hoping :)

I thought I wanted a huge wedding where we invite literally everyone.... but after we got engaged I decided I really just wanted the people who we love and care about there and not go crazy with extended family... even with not wanting to go crazy our guest list is at like 140! lol

I either wanted a wedding in Disney World, or conpletely non-disney modern chic affiar on Long Island. When Disney didn't work out, I found I did want to pull in some elements since Disney became such an important part of FH's journey (the engagement was at Cinderellas wishing well in Magic Kingdom!)

Never did I think I would have the type of wedding I am having now. I can't wait until my day. My wedding is like the first wedding in my family that will be held in a catering hall, so this is going to surpise a lot of guests too.

I really did not have a particular type of wedding in mind. However, I did think we would have to settle on a place and go with the one that was the most economical and not the one that we LOVED.
Well I am soooo happy since the one that we loved was the one that fit in our budget. So happy how that turned out.

I've been engaged for 2 years so its changed a few times for me...LOL First I just thought we'd end up marrying at city hall then just having a nice dinner w/ our families.
After that we were discussing a destinatation wedding in Puerto Rico with our nearest and dearest friends/family. But after all was said and done it would have cost about the same as having a wedding reception here. We thought it was better to have it here where we can then have all our family and friends and its more convenient for everyone.

Mine was very similar to yours! We got engaged in Montauk and we set on getting married in Montauk, until we went out there to look at our options and it was slim pickings...we always knew we'd have a lot of people, we really wanted that semi destination though. So now we're still semi-getting that because we're out on the beginning of the North Fork in baiting hollow so I'm happy.

our plans are turning out exactly what we wanted- even from before we got engaged...when we first got engaged we though our plans for a 'winter wonderland' theme were going to change because it was getting too late to plan a Feb wedding (less than 1 year)...but as we did our research & started booking- everything is turning out the way we wanted & i couldn't be happier

I always wanted a destination wedding, but when we got engaged, and I realized that many of our closest friends and family members wouldn't be able to come, we decided to have it here. I am really excited that we are, because our friends are a blast!!!!!!!!!!

Ours totally changed LOL
the 2 years before we got engaged we only talked about have a DW and last year we said it would be in Jamaica. Just a small group of family and friends . Then when the actual planning started everything changed! And now we are having it in L.I at a hall with everyone and then some LOL
in the long run we figured we aren't saving anything by having a DW so might as well do the big wedding here with everyone.
And our friends liked our idea so much now they are having the DW we always talked about having in Jamaica ..... Which is really weird and I am still on the fence as to how I feel about that.

I really wanted a destination wedding but FH was completely against that idea, so now we're inviting over 300ppl... fun!

I think my plans have come out better than I expected. I didn't think I could have an elegant fairytale wedding that I wanted. Also I had planned on getting married in a church but found a beautiful room at my RH that fits my dream.
This isn't as big of a difference as some of the other replies, but August was probably the month I least expected to get married in, and August it is! I'm taking the bar next July, and *HOPE* to be employed after that, so August just made sense.

I used to want to do a vineyard wedding....then i wanted destination (but mostly because I didn't want to deal with people) I always wanted my close friends and family to be involved.
Now I'm having a typical long island wedding with a huge BP. So I guess not sooo different.
